This will be the case this rally, with a few of our members away for our rally day, competing on behalf of our club – and we wish them all well! For those not competing this rally weekend, we have had to restructure our usual classes to accommodate the reduced numbers, whilst still making our rally for those who will be attending both informative and interesting led by our team of instructors. Please check the end of the newsletter to see which group you will be in for this rally and I hope what we have planned will be interesting. Don’t forget to sign the “Roll Book” at the start of this rally. All House Members will do the April rally set up. All helpers gain points for their house as well, even if not rostered to set up! For this rally and to comply with PCAV Safety Rules, you must have a gear check prior to competing. Remember kids – “No Gear Check – No Riding” If you will not be attending the April rally, can you please let me know ASAP. See you at the rally! Jan

DC Report

Hi Everyone,

For many, this rally will be at the beginning of school holidays and the chance for some to attend pony training camps and the many horse events that are scheduled over the next month.

Bingo Duty

Our bingo duty dates for the year are as follows:

Thursday 3rd April, Thursday 5th June, Thursday 7thAugust, Thursday 9th October, Thursday 11th December.

Night duty commences at 6.45pm. If you are unable to attend your allocated duty date please ensure you find your own replacement. Families on morning set up duty for each of the above dates are the Ould, Taylor, Ennis & Geysen families until further notice.

Commencing this year, we will be allocating each club members family a date, starting alphabetically for bingo duty assistance. This should give our families plenty of time to work out if the date allocated is suitable. This is an important fund raising activity for our club.

3rd April night, Bingo duty this will be: Armstrong, Boatwood, Clough, Ennis-Wert, Ferrari.

5th June night, Bingo duty this will be: Geysen, Grindrod, Harvie, Kendall, Kosta.

7th August night, Bingo duty this will be: Karantonis, McKelvie, Ould, Parker, Purcell.

9th October night, Bingo duty this will be: Reece, Tivendale, Vodanovich, Armstrong, Boatwood.

11th December night, Bingo duty this will be: Clough, Ennis-Wert, Ferrari, Geysen, Grindrod

Bingo helps support many clubs & schools in our area. If you like a game or two of Bingo, feel free to go along any Thursday night and enjoy a chance to win the jackpot! Helpers can also play on our rostered evenings.

Canteen

Due to the reduced attendance only one family is rostered for canteen duty for the April rally, this is the Geysen family, with others to assist when needed. Canteen roster entails cooking the morning BBQ as well as serving and selling the food at lunch and then cleaning up the BBQ and kitchen after lunch. If you are rostered for duty and will not be attending the rally, please make sure your duty is swapped with another family.

“Out and About”

Congratulations to Erin and Polly who competed at Phillip Island Pony Club Combined Training and won Champion Grade 3 Dressage and CT rider. Erin won a lovely woollen rug and trophy. Sarah Boatwood and Tahlia Pursell also put in a fine effort. I’d also like to congratulate other members who compete on behalf of our club at the many events around our area.

If you would like to be included in the out and about section, please send me the details at [email protected] no later than last week of the month prior to next pony club rally. *Important Dates*:

April Rally: Sunday 6th April, 2014

May Rally & AGM Sunday 4th May, 2014

Bunning’s BBQ – Pakenaham Saturday 10th May 2014 Parents of Club Members are encouraged to place their names on a list for duty on this day (an email can be sent with a preferred duty allocation to [email protected]) or a time may be allocated. It is from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Nar Nar Goon Pony Club members will be required to attend in full pony club uniform if they are assisting their parents/duty helpers as they are representing the club. We are hoping that this will raise some much-required funds for our club to better provide our members with better facilities.

****AGM**** Due to the holiday break occurring on our April rally weekend, it has been decided by the committee to hold our AGM at our May rally. All office holder positions will be vacant. These are “President”, “Vice President”, “Secretary”, “Treasurer” & “Canteen”. If you are interested in nominating for any of the above positions please speak to one of the current holders who will be pleased to outline the duties involved in that position. It is vital that the club has a strong and enthusiastic committee and you would be most welcome to contribute by being one of our committee for the coming year.

****Dressage **** Lots of thanks to the many people who helped on Saturday and Sunday to set up and pack up for the N.N.G Dressage Day on Sunday 23rd March. The day was very successful with some of our Pony Club Members being awarded sashes for their efforts in the Dressage Arena and Jemma riding Charlie, took out the Champion Dressage Rider Grade 5! Well-done Jemma!! Thank you to everyone who donated all the fantastic prizes and our Sponsors who we greatly appreciate for their support.
