The Test Administrator (TA) must log in to the Online National Assessment Platform

(Assessment Platform) (www.assessform.edu.au) to create and start a test session.

The TA is the only role that can start a test session.

The Principal or NAPLAN Coordinator must provide the TA with the TA Pack to administer the

test session (see Factsheet 12: Create TA Packs).

The TA Pack must contain:

• TA Session Slip

• Student Session Slips (for the relevant test)

• NAPLAN online test administration handbook for teachers

• participating students list.

During a test session, the Test Administrator (TA) must actively monitor the TA dashboard and take immediate action to resolve any problems.

The TA must check regularly:

• the tabs All, Not started, Paused, Finished, Waiting Entry for any student who may require TA action to be able to continue their test attempt

• the Progress column to make sure all students are progressing through their test attempt

• the Actions column for icons, which provide information about the student’s test experience and alert the TA to perform an action.

Locked test attempt

• Check why the test attempt is locked — device reboot, flat battery, device change etc.

• Decide if the student should be allowed to continue.

Active test disruption (live test disruption)

• Check if the student lost time during the test. • Decide if any action is required — pause to investigate,

resume test if possible • Dismiss the disruption icon.

Inactive test disruption (no longer affecting the student)

• Check if the student is experiencing a connection problem.

• Decide if Pause is required (in some instances students do not notice the disruption).

• Select Show details for further information

During a test session, the Test Administrator (TA) may be required to unlock a test attempt.

A test attempt can become locked when a student is forced to log in more than once to complete

a test attempt, either on the same or on a different device. For example:

• The student has experienced a technical issue.

• A student who has been postponed is joining a new test session.

The appearance of the icon on the TA dashboard indicates that a test attempt has been

locked (the NAP locked down browser will also display a message).

The TA must determine whether to unlock and allow the student access to their test attempt.

The Principal or NAPLAN Coordinator can also perform this task if necessary.

The Principal must progress the school from the Delivering phase to the Results phase.

Once you progress to Results, you cannot access the Preparing or Delivering phases.

Before the test window ends, check that there are no:

• test sessions that are Open or Started

• test attempts with the status of Open, Paused or Postponed.

All items in the Checklist must be checked to move to the Results phase, where you will download

the School and Student Summary Report (SSSR) when it is released.

The Complete button will appear only after every task has been checked.
