2012 Edgar Bajaña

DAY 3

Archimedes was a beautiful woman with a buzz cut. Even without her long beautifulhair, she looked tall, slim and fit. In other words, she looked beautiful. It was around the same time that Zebulon was getting out of jail, when Archimedesstepped inside her house to find a surprise. She came home one day to find a maninside her apartment. It was him, the billionaire sailor. She knew him from before news of him and the greatvoyage into space became a thing. At one time she thought that she had fallen in lovewith him. But tonight, she was surprised to see him in her dark kitchen, none the less. She turnedon the light to her apartment and there he was, sitting in a chair in the middle if thekitchen in the dark.

She heard his voice. "How you doing good look'n?" He asked.

"I'm cooking dinner." She tried to keep composed. So she acted as if his suddenappearance did send a shiver down her back. She maneuvered around him and placedthe groceries on the counter. She took off her coat in the kitchen and started to preparedinner. She started to chop something up, when he turned her around to face him.

"Come on, I just have the best time with you. That's all."

Suddenly, they were interrupted by another voice. There was another woman by thedoorway of the kitchen. An next to her, there was a boy by her waist.

"Look at who I found." The woman caressed the boys face. "We really want what's bestfor you. And the child?" Archimedes looked at the sailor dressed in black, wearing a set of polished black shoes.

He said nothing. What the captain wants is for you to join him on his voyage. It's for better of humanity.For once the Question will be answered. Can't you see what he is asking you."

"It's true what she is saying Archimedes. I love you. And I want to step into the NewWorld with you."

Archimedes looked at her son, being held by the woman dressed in black. The boylooked fresh, young and innocent. Arc understood that the captain was not asking her.He was merely telling her what was going to happen.  "Please. Don't take me away from my son. I've told you before.I don't want to go withyou. There is nothing out there for me."

"But, you'll have me." The Captain jumped on. He waited for her reaction and hea devilish smile across her face."

"I don't care about what you believe." Said Archimedes. "I don't care about what peopleare saying about the New World. I don't care about the water that may be out there. Idon't. Please leave me alone."

Archimedes waited for them to hand over her boy. But, they did not. "Take the boy downstairs and into the car." "No.!"

The captain struck her across the face and she fell by the counter.

Captain stood above as she laid on the floor nursing a bleeding lip.  "So. This is how it's going to go. Archimedes. I love your personality. I love your spirit,your soul. And must have it for my journey into the stars. It's a lonely trip and I want youto be by my side."

The Captain breathed hard. "So this is what's going to happen. I am going to take everything that you have in yourbrain and take it with me, all your humor," he pause and smiled. I do love your quarks."

"No I don't want to go." She got up and grabbed the knife that she used to chopvegetables. She held it tightly in her hand an pointed the tip at him.  "I'm not going to let you." She said again. "It's too late. But I promise that your boy will be set for life. I promise you that. You havemy word."

She looked at the front door, still ajar. She ran pass the captain and headed down asfast as she could. She made it pass the lobby. She could hear him running after herdown the stairs. She hoped to still catch up with her sun.  The Captain was in charge of one of the interstellar ships that were being planned forspace travel. He would be the tyrant of the ship because he had a plan to own theplanet that he was going to explore.

The craft will take two hundred years across the infinite space and the tyrant screamsafter her. He steps out into the open air and he sees the storm blowing strongly acrossthe canvass. He yelled after her. There is no escape, Archimedes. His scream filled a void. Heheaded out into the storm. He saw her and he figured out  the place where she would betrapped by him. She ran through the storm and ended up were she started. She ran into the captain -as if he had planned it all along - and his body eclipsed hers.

The storm engulfs them both and all he heard were sound of her screams. He forced

her to go with him to the ship. She will be his, and his alone. With no vow of marriage tobind them through the storm, she screams.

She screams again. Eventually, the storm drowns everything out.
