LOOKING AHEAD! FALL 2019
Exciting Building Changes:
The lower level of the building is being renovated to create a dedicated space for our 6th, 7th, & 8th
graders. Their suite will include three re-imagined and renovated classrooms, a new science lab, and a
library-media center. Lavatories will be added to the elementary classrooms. A new gym floor will
enable us to provide a safe and dynamic playing surface for our students….and we are capping it all
off with a new roof to keep us all warm and dry!
Technology, Art, and Music Up-grades:
Look for an infusion of Smartboards, Chromebooks, Virtual Reality Goggles, robots, STEM kits and
more to be used in cross-curricular applications. New art and music rooms are also coming in
September with enhanced technology, exciting new curriculum materials, and greater opportunities
for hands-on learning.
Elementary School Curriculum Enhancements:
Look for PK and K to expand their use of the creative curriculum for ELA, math, science, and social
studies and our Dot-Dash robots. Students in grades 1-5 will begin using the on-line tool, MAP Skills.
MAP skills meets each student at his/her current level of mastery and provides academic challenges
appropriate for their skill level. Discovery Education on-line resources will take our students on
inviting and exciting adventures.
Middle School Curriculum Enhancements:
As Mrs. Balcanoff takes on math for grades 6-9, expect to see a deeper exploration of concepts and
the creative application of mathematical knowledge using the Next Generation Math Standards. Also,
look for a more expansive integration of ELA and Social Studies in Mrs. Mino and Mrs. Dotterer’s
classrooms. Across all middle school grades, we will continue to roll out the Next Generation Science
Standards and celebrate with a newly aligned science fair. More closely aligning course work and the
science fair with these standards will increase opportunities for students to participate in both hands-
on and web based research projects. Just like at the elementary level, Discovery Education on-line
resources will take our students on inviting and exciting adventures.
NEXT UP-DATE: athletics, music, art, clubs, and more….
We won’t have to see this sign again until next year!
There were only 4 snow days used this
school year.
Because we have 5 left, the following days are “give back” (NO SCHOOL) days for
Kingston Catholic.

PROGRAM ADS
Once again Kingston Catholic School’s Musical Theatre program would like to give you the opportunity to express your support and best wishes for a talented and dedicated group of individuals. You do not have to have a child involved with the show to put an ad in the program. This is a great way to advertise a business as the show is open to the whole community. Placing an ad in the program is always a fun and inexpensive way to send your message to your special cast or crew member. Your contributions will go directly to the proceeds of the play, ensuring the continuation of this outstanding opportunity for our children. We are asking that each cast member (family) sell a minimum of 2 line ads or 1 other type of ad. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

CAKEWALK DONATIONS We need your help with our upcoming cakewalk happening as part of the
Bunny Breakfast, April 7th , 8:30-11:30 at KCS Wall Street.
We need your store-bought cakes, homemade cakes, and other sweets like
cookies or cupcakes donated for our Cakewalk prizes.
What’s a cakewalk, you say?
It’s a traditional fundraising event similar to a raffle and musical chairs.
Numbered squares are laid out on a path. Tickets are sold for $1.00.
---Just $1.00 for the chance of winning an entire CAKE!---
The participants walk around the path in time to music. When the music stops,
a number is called out, and the person standing on the square with that
number wins a cake as a prize. There are as many cakewalk events as there are
donated cakes. 10 cakes make for a successful event.
Pick up a cake box and directions in the school
offices and Contact Rebecca Shea at
