Why did Detroit, Michigan, become the center of the nation’s

automobile industry?• Detroit Michigan became the center of the

nations automobile industry for a few reasons. Detroit is located on the Great Lakes which is great for shipping raw materials and finished products easier. Also, there are many steel mills nearby to help with the supply needed to make cars.
