It’s been a long time that we are confined to our homes. Nobody ever thought about the

present situation. But such kind of situations in our lives prepare us for the future. We have learned

the very important topic today-DISASTER MANAGEMENT. We learned to follow the strict protocol

because there can be many sources of infection and the entire process would be additionally

complicated. At the same time, we learned another form of teaching and learning. In this

unprecedented scenario, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in the way we live our lives and educate

our young generation. As the country is combating the virus at war front, our school is leaving no

stones unturned to make sure that your education is not jeopardized during the process.

As your holidays are approaching, it is the best and fruitful time for learning and for

nurturing creativity. Your teachers have designed interesting activities as a part of Subject

Enrichment. The Holiday Homework designed would not only enhance skills but also increase

your ability to explore. It would teach you to work independently and would also develop

personal skills and time management.

You can submit your home work on Microsoft Teams by following the given steps –

Suggestions for the parents during Summer Vacations: (Few enjoyable activities for the

holidays)-

1). Set up a treasure hunt

Treasure hunts are pretty easy and depending on how

many items there are, could last a while. Hide

anywhere from 10 to 20 items around the house or

outside to keep kids occupied for few hours.

2). Take them to a virtual aquarium

Aquariums are a great way to learn about the underwater world, and also a great way to relax the kids at the end of the day as fish can have a calming effect. Check out a bunch of virtual tours of aquariums from all around the world.

3). Virtually visit the monuments - Transport you and your family to different parts of the world.

4). Bake together-

Cookies, cakes, brownies. Anything! Baking is a great lesson in measuring, ingredients and of course, making delicious goodies.

5) Keep to a schedule- Schools may be closed but one of the ways to keep things running efficiently at home is to stick to a schedule. Not only will this help to keep your household running smoothly, but can also give the kids things to look forward to during the week.

6) Start an independent novel project-

Read a book together and, as an added educational component, have the kids write up an independent novel project once it’s finished. The novel project can feature a summary and reaction. Home projects are a great way to keep the kids learning during this time.

7) Do give them a break

Setting a schedule and focusing on educational tasks is awesome, but you should take time to focus on some playtime too. After a few educational tasks, make sure to focus on some backyard time too.

8). FaceTime family members

FaceTime is another meaningful way to connect with family and friends while practicing “social distancing.” Use it to check in on family members and to socialize, even if it’s just over the phone.

9). Do some cleaning or organising

We know cleaning isn’t exactly “fun,” but with everyone off from school and off from work, the house is bound to get messy, and pretty quickly at that. Carve out a few minutes, even if it’s just 15, each day to prioritize organization.

10). Play cards-

Uno, Go Fish, Solitare… Any game you can think of!

11) Break out the board games-

Scrabble, Monopoly, Candy Land, Checkers, Chess, Snakes and Ladders…

a video while preparing it.

The impact of the lockdown can be seen in the environment all around us!! Air Quality Index is certainly

increasing and the temperatures of June has dropped down as compared to previous years.Record the

temperature of Delhi for any 7 consecutive days of June and represent it in the form of a bar graph

.You have to make the bars using the waste materials at home such as wooden pieces ,broken or old rulers,

unused plastic bottles, tetra packs etc .Use a combination of various waste materials to represent the bars.

Group 3(Roll Numbers 25 onwards):Do not let this lockdown period effect your eyes & health.Involve

yourself in innovative off screen activities like painting ,reading,singing , gardening etc and reduce your active

screen time!!

Keep a record of the number of active screen hours(hours spent in front of a screens of TV, laptops,

mobiles, gadgets etc)and the number of hours spent in your off screen hobby for 3 consecutive days.
