December 2010
Indulging in Good Health Indulge was the theme of the night and more than 500 women did just that at the third annual St. Luke’s Spirit Girls’ Night Out on Oct. 21.
After being greeted at the door with a strand of pearls and decadent Bissinger’s dark chocolate, guests had the opportunity to talk with physicians, get free health screenings and indulge in mini-makeovers, mini-massages, eyebrow waxing and other pampering activities. They also enjoyed photos with girlfriends, shopping and dessert with the doctors. Program emcee Shirley Washington from Fox 2 News announced this year’s St. Luke’s Healthy Woman Award winner and guest speaker Missy Lavender of the Women’s Health Foundation shared pelvic health information with humor and candor. (See article on page 2 about Missy’s upcoming appearance on Lifetime TV.)
With nearly double the number of guests as last year, there was more excitement around the event, but also some growing
pains with space and parking. The event planning committee is already looking at a larger, more spacious
venue for next year and is grateful for the valuable feedback from guests who completed the electronic survey that went out through e-mail. See you at Girls’ Night Out 2011!
