Terms and Definitions: IHSA/CORTM Definition: The legislation
governing workplaces in Ontario is known as the Occupational Health
and Safety Act. The "Act" is the LAW and is common to all
workplaces regardless of the type of work being done.

Good Practice:
13.1 Is health and safety legislation (all acts and regulations
that apply) considered during the job planning process?
a. Implement a system to track ALL acts and regulations that apply
to your business. Considerations may be
given to legal registries, task and/or hazards databases with
corresponding acts and regulations, or legislative
requirements by job, etc.
Example of a hazard assessment / database with applicable
legislated requirements:
13.2 Are copies of relevant legislation readily available at each
workplace as required?
a. Health, safety and environmental legislation may fall under
