A study guide for the 2020 7th ELA final has been attached. It is due on June 17th and must be fully completed.
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl: Reader Response Journals
• Responses should be a minimum of 6-8 sentences in length (they can always be more). There is only one entry due on June 17th. You may choose to do a Historical Response, Quote Response, or Personal Response.
Historical Response: We will be learning about a lot of history to help us understand the context of Anne’s experience. For this response type, please connect some specific history you have learned in class to a section of the diary. Provide detail about the historical event as well as a clear explanation of the connection you see to the diary, providing the date of the diary entry and the page number in the book.
Quote response: The quote response asks you to choose a specific quote from Anne’s diary to respond to. This response can be personal, historical or make connections to other events or novels. The point here is to keep us noticing excellent quotes in writing.
Personal Response: Anne communicates her personality very powerfully in this book. She has many feelings and experiences that most people can connect with, which is why the book became popular so quickly, and why it has remained popular. For this response type, please provide the date of the entry that you are responding to and discuss your personal connection to the story or characters. Feel free to be candid, as you can request that I not read these sections closely as I grade the response journal.
This one response is worth a Tier 2 Grade, so please put full effort in.
4 3 2 1
Response is completed thoroughly and thoughtfully.
Response is completed but is short or not thought out.

read since January and choose one character that has stood out in your mind.
Explain at least three experiences that the character went through that allowed him
or her to find their identity. For each experience you mention, you must include at
least one specific detail from the novel that proves your point. Remember, your

circumstances.
• Any student who calls in absent will have their access to the exam removed by the
teacher using the assessment function in Teams.

[email protected] as soon as possible so that it can be remedied prior to final
examinations. Once the exam has started all technical issues should be brought to the teacher and
NOT the distance learning email or phone number.
