Internship Log-In Hours

Internship Hours/Days:Day 1:8:00am-10:00am -Was introduced to employees of the company -Talked with the employees about that they do. -Also went on a tour of the building to each office and the main conference room

10:00am-11:30am-Got to start on my first assignment.-Create a Flash application in Adobe Flash CS3 for the front page of the website.-Creating a simple feather floating down to the door and welcoming people to the website

11:30am-2:00pm-Sat down on a presentation with the rest of the company to talk to Alex Hadjiantoniou (storyboard/illustration artist) about what is going on in the field of design and to see some examples of the work that he is doing in his field. Also got information on his website that you are welcome to visit (www.alexantoniou.com).

2:00pm-3:00pm-Talked to the Sr. Vice President of the company and the head designer about defferent types of design and how to sell your work to your clients.

3:00 pm-7:00pm-Worked more on my flash application for the MC Website

Company: Mackinnon CladerWood Global Retail and Design

Day 2:8:00am-10:00am-Went into the company, talked with the bosses about what I want to do next year and about my future in the field of multi-media. -Also I talked more about what they do at this company so I could get a better sense of what they do here at Mackinnon CladerWood Global Retail and Design.

10:00am-12:00pm-Worked more on the Flash application for the welcome page of the Mackinnon CladerWood website with the feather floating down to the door that enters the website.

12:00pm-2:00pm-Went the conference room with everybody to help pick out some design posters that they need to judge for another company. I just needed to pick the three best ones in my opinion and tell them what I think about the other ones.

2:00pm-7:00pm-Worked on and finished my flash application for the website. Also gave some advice for the website on how they want to present the application on the home page of the site.

Day 3:8:00am-12:00pm-Helped the Sr Vice President with some business proposals with other clients to sell there design works to other companies. Did some work on the main website to improve what hey had on the (our work) page of the site.

12:00pm-3:00pm-Started to work on my logo samples for the company in CS3 Adobe Illustrator as a reference for other logo’s they are designing for the company. Went out for lunch with the other employees and got to know them a lot better.

3:00pm-6:00pm- Worked some more on the logo’s and got some feedback on the work and hours that i’ve been putting in. All of it being positive.

Day 4:8:00am-11:00am-Got into work, and immediately started working back on the logo’s for the company. Also went on another tour of the company.

11:00am-1:00pm-Went with my dad (The Sr. Vice President of the company) to another company to talk to partners about some business that they are doing together. My dad and his partner are designing some new buildings for Shoppers Drug Mart and Lablaws.

1:00pm-4:00pm-Finishing sample logo’s for the company.

4:00pm-7:00pm-Teamed up with Richard Gavin (Vice President of Statistic Planning and Design) to work some Photoshop work. (Designing a new stream of Gas Station’s (ESSO) in Photoshop to give a new look and feel to the station)

Day 5:8:00am-12:00pm-Continued to work with Richard on the Photoshop document.

12:00pm-4:00pm-Sat in on a board meeting as they talked about the future of the company and whatfuture clients they are interested in. -Watched a presentation on business in new media.

4:00pm-6:00pm-Got everything cleaned up at my work area and talked to Richard about the work field. Also got an overview of my work with everybody in my dad’s office and about what im going to do in the future. Had a lot of fun talks with them.

Day 6:8:00am-12:00pm-Started designing a number of backgrounds for the website in Photoshop to just give them some options about the background of the website

12:00pm-4:00pm-Sat down with Derek Smith (Co-Creative Director) to do the finishing touches on the application that I did for the front page of the website. Added music to the application to give it more of a atmosphere to the website

4:00pm-7:00pm-Worked on and finished the background examples of the website and handed it in back to Richard for him to go over and see if they are good enough to use for the website

Day 7:8:00am-11:00am-Worked with my dad in his office to get more of a sense of what he does here at the company. Got some of the work at the company for me to look at and was asked if I could follow up on what I think of there work.

11:00am-2:00pm-Worked on my log as the vice presidents went to talk to some potential clients in there office and researched some information about the company to do for my log.

2:00pm-5:00pm-Finished up some more work for the company and occasionally went to see the boss to see what he thought.

5:00pm-7:00pm-Said goodbye to everybody and got some recognition from all the work and time that I put in. Went out with some of the workers and my dad for dinner and some beers. good time.

7:00pm:Went home to finish my internship log.
