Email to SMS - Alternate sending option
This guide contains instructions on how to send an SMS via Email using any email client. There are twomethods available, send a single SMS or send bulk/multiple SMS’s from one email account.
Email to SMS Prerequisite
1. An email client
2. For security reasons, only one email address can be authorised to send Email to SMS requests for an SMS account. To configure this please follow the procedure provided in the “How to Register” section.
To register a new email address (or change the registered email address) please send an email to [email protected] as specified below.
The email must be addressed to [email protected], contain the subject line (as shown below) and must be sent from the email address you would like to register.
A response reflecting the success of the registration process will be sent once the process is completed.

To The To address must be [email protected].
Subject Options: All options must be separated by braces.• [un=myusername] – Your portal username• [pw=mypassword] – Your portal passwordExample of a correctly formatted email subject line:[un=xxx][pw=123]

SINGLE SMS - HOW TO SEND
The following settings are available.
All emails must be addressed to <mobilephoneNumber>@mymobileapi.com and must contain the subjectline, have a from email address and contain a message
Email Field Description
From Your email address
To The To address must start with a mobile number and contain the domain in the address. E.g. [email protected]. Only one email address will be accepted.
Subject The subject must contain your account password.
Body The message you wish to send to the mobile phone. This can be in plain text or HTML. All html tags will be stripped from the message and only the text will be sent.
CC Not Used
BCC Not Used
The subject line contains the required information, un and pw, while the email is addressed to [email protected], and sent from the email address you would like to use.

BULK SMS - HOW TO SEND
The following settings are available. Those in red are required
All emails must be addressed to [email protected] and must contain the subject line, have a fromemail address and contain a message.
Email Field Description
From Your email address
To The To address must be [email protected] when sending to multiple mobile phone numbers from one email only one email address will be accepted.
Subject The subject must contain your account password.
Body Each line item in the email body must consist of the following information:• Phonenumber• Message• CustomerId (optional)
And is separated by the tilde “~” (above the 1 or left of the one key on the keyboard)
