GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER

Stewardship St Theresa ended the Fiscal Year 2018 with a $159,000 shortage in our Stewardship donations from our budget. We have been holding a $176,000 balance in our savings account for several years. Due to the stewardship shortfall, we used $100,000 of our savings for parish operating expenses. Our new fiscal year started on July 1, 2018, and we are thankful for all our new cheer-ful givers and the givers that increased their stewardship donations. We would like to give a special thank you to all givers that contribute with several generous one-time donations to help us with the shortfall. Every gift made through the offertory collection, online or through automatic withdrawals makes a world of differ-ence to the ministries, programs, and works of St. Theresa. Help us to continue to serve well through your cheerful giving every Sunday all year long!

INTRODUCING ST. THERESA'S NEW YOUTH MINISTER

Welcome to our Parish We welcome Fr. Pascal Kumanda to

St. Theresa this weekend. He is here representing Cross Catholic Outreach; a Catholic ministry run by priests, nuns, and Catholic lay leaders that

delivers food, shelter, medicines, and hope to the poorest of the poor.

Please be generous to this worthy cause!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Joseph Blanco and I am extremely blessed and excited to join the St. Theresa family as your new Youth Minis-ter! I was born and raised in the great city of Houston Texas and I have been working in youth ministry for the Archdiocese for almost 10 years. I started at 15 like every other teenager, not eager about my faith at all, but the good Lord seems to have his way and I answered the call and never looked back since. My goal is simple, and that is to show that the young church is alive and well and we are ready to make a lot of noise! In the words of 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don't Let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.". I am extremely looking forward to sharing my love and faith with our young church and to help them in their spir-itual journey. Please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or 713-869-3783 ext. 329, I am her e to serve you all.

Many Blessings! Joseph Blanco

FAITH FORMATION

Faith Formation is equipping people to live as

Disciples of Jesus. In his latest book, Generations

Together, John Roberto reaffirms a traditional,

but very rich notion that “faith formation in-

forms, forms, and transforms the person—

whether child, youth, or adult—into a robust,

vital, and life-giving Catholic Faith that is

holistic: a way of the head, the heart,

and the hands.”

PARDON OUR PROGRESS

The area in front of the Church office and running behind the two

handicap parking spots will be prepared for a new sanitary line. Steel

plates have been added so that parishioners and visitors can carefully

use the handicap spaces for parking as needed. We ask that you be

careful as this is a construction area and the ground is not level. When

complete this line will be the sanitary connection for the new Narthex building. Thank you for

your support and understanding during construction.

You may have walked by the mock up wall that was started this week, it is located between the Church office and the Fellowship Hall. A mock up wall is built around the time or in con-junction with a pre-installation meeting with the design team and the subcontractors. Listed below are the four main reasons to install a mock up wall during a project:

1. Confirm correctness for installation 2. Seamless integration between the new construction and the existing buildings 3. Review constructability to insure the capability and correctness of materials 4. Set the quality of work standards

GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER

PRESENTANDO AL NUEVO MINISTRO JUVENIL DE STA. TERESA

Bienvenidos a

Nuestra Parroquia

¡Muchas bendiciones! Joseph Blanco
