Understanding Prerequisites
• Definition: course(s) students are required to complete prior to enrolling in a given course; prerequisite is a measure of subject preparedness.
• Prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
• Some General Education courses do not have prerequisites. (Italicized courses on the GE lists do not have prerequisites while courses in bold do have prerequisites)
COURSE DESCRIPTIONENG-001A COMPOSITION (p. 180) 4 Units
This course introduces students to the demands of writing in the academic setting. Students learn the basics of critical thinking and research techniques as they apply to the writing process. Students then learn to apply the writing process in composing essays in response to their analysis of prose and poetry.
