My Favorite Work of Art  You  will  search  the  internet  for  a  famous  work  of  art  that  you  like.      

• You  will  print  out  a  copy  of  the  artwork  (it  must  be  large  enough  to  be  identifiable).    

• You  will  paste  it  on  another  sheet  of  paper.    • Label  it  on  top  with  your  full  name,  grade  and  period  number.    • Label  the  artwork  with  the  name  of  the  artist,  title  and  year  created.    

• Underneath  you  will  respond  in  full  sentences  (this  should  be  a  paragraph,  see  the  sample);    

• Your  first  sentence  must  identify  the  artwork  by  artist,  title  and  year  created.    

• In  your  next  sentence,  explain  in  detail  why  you  chose  this  artwork.    

• Then,  explain  what  it  is  that  you  like  about  this  work  of  art.  (3-­‐5  sentences)  

• Next,  tell  what  you  feel  may  have  inspired  the  artist  to  create  this  work  of  art.  (1-­‐2  sentences).  

• Finally,  in  your  last  sentence,  tell  what  you  feel  the  "mood"  of  this  work  of  art  is.    “Mood”  is  the  emotional  response  a  person  feels  when  they  view  a  work  of  art.    

         Be  prepared  to  speak  about  this  work  of  art  in  front  of  the  class.  You  will  be  graded  on  the  assignment  and  your  presentation.    Responses  may  be  written  (neatly)  or  typed  and  printed  from  a  computer.  The  total  will  include  7-­‐10  GRADE  LEVEL  APPROPRIATE  sentences.  Be  sure  to  use  vocabulary  from  our  list  and  vivid  descriptions!      This  is  due  on  Friday,  September  29,  2017                Look  at  the  sample  attached.
