• Mise en scene – The Central image was taken in an urban area to depict the title of the magazine and what it stands for.

• Costume & Props – Again, Clothing was taken into account and the two models wore clothes that depict the grime scene. The use of the headphones and the microphone in the male models hand lets the audience know that he is some sort of performer. Also the idea of him with a girls gives readers the idea of the glamour life that a lot of teenagers want to live.

• People – The male model is an up and coming artist and The female model is another new artist that feature on one of his tracks.

• Title font and style – The use of graffiti writing for the title also enhances the idea of ‘street life’ and grime.

• Written content – The cover lines at the front of the magazine tells viewers what to expect, jus like all other magazines.

• Music genre and how my magazine suggests It – The use of props and costume play an important part just as much as the font styles and the layout. Using a microphone and headphones suggest studio work is involved and the surroundings of the photo suggest that the music genre is going to be something you associate with the streets, Grime is the 1st that usually comes to mind.

• Layout – The layout is one that most music magazines follow, different fonts and a colour theme is often used and that has been implemented into my magazine.

• My contents page took on a more simple role than a contents pages in other music magazines but it still took on some of the features e.g. page numbering – the pages that are highlighted and shown are the pages that are cover line on the cover of the magazine.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and

why? • IPC Media (time inc.) may be interested to distribute

my magazine as they are a well established magazine within the united kingdom and may want to branch out to the underground scene in he U.K for complete domination against other leading U.K magazines. Also there are hardly any well established magazine that are on grime so that could also be a very profitable market for them to branch into.

One of the magazines IPC Media distribute.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

My target audience would be teenagers and young adults as grime was the music of their era and a lot of youths associate themselves with grime music and the lifestyle it portrays.

The clothes that all of the above teenagers are wearing are all as a result of the U,K grime/hip hop music scene.

Their ages range between 17 and 18 and this is the audience I’m are aiming at as they will have a general interest in what my magazine has to offer and can also relate to the magazine,

How did you attract/address your audience?

• In order to attract an audience to a magazine, you need to be able to relate to the audience in some way through your contents and especially your front cover. Here are some of the way in which I done this.

Font – Title done in graffiti. This is representative of a lot of teenagers today and teenagers can relate to graffiti.

Image Background – The idea of the streets and the urban surroundings also relates to teenagers as a lot of teenagers are into the street life.

Clothing and Props – The clothes that both models are wearing are clothes worn by teenagers on a daily basis, name brands that every teenager wants.

The fact that these models are teenagers automatically has an impact on our target, as they can automatically relate them as they have similarities.

The use of the headphones and the microphone applies to young teenagers that are want to pursue a career as an artist.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

• I had a general knowledge of using photo shop to go with my basic computing skills and my preliminary task showed my capabilities. As I started to do my main magazine, I started to explore with Photoshop and learnt new tips and tricks whilst doing so that ultimately became useful to the creation of the magazine.

• Modelling and photography was almost natural to me as I had experience of it before.

Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full

product?

Since my preliminary task I have learnt a lot about the construction of magazine and their layouts and I’ve also learnt how to construct a double page spread. My main task is a major improvement on my preliminary task as I have researched and look at other magazines and know magazines websites such as Magforum.co.uk and as I’ve built my magazine I implemented the different features that regularly appear in other leading music magazines.
