Up to 1994 we where part of South Africa and followed their curriculum

On 21 March 1990 Namibia become independent

In 1995 we started following the Cambridge Curriculum in Gr.11 and Gr.12

At Primary Level only 55% of the teachers are qualify to teach Mathematics

The average for the grade 10 level Mathematics in the National Examination last year was 38%

Of the mathematics students who graduate in Gr.12 only 3.3% are on the higher level

The Physical Resource Problem

There are only place in Senior Secondary Schools for about 50% of the learners to complete their Basic Education

Many of the schools in the rural areas do not have water, electricity or a telephone, which limits their access to modern forms of communication

You still find Teachers teaching under a tree in Namibia owing to lack of classrooms
