Operating mode

UHP 250 is used for extinguishing class A and B fires. In fire class A (solidmatter fires) the high-pressure extin-guishing unit is mainly operated withthe classic extinguishing agent, water.Foaming agents can be added ifnecessary and required by the situa-tion. Foam is produced by adding afoaming agent and switching over thecombined extinguishing adapter of theextinguishing pistol. The resulting foamis most suitable for combating liquidfires (fire class B) and also prevents anypossible re-ignition.

The high-pressure extinguishing pro-cess is based on the atomization ofwater. Micro-water droplets are pro-duced which extremely enlarge thewater surface. The cooling effect of the water is perfectly used (heat energyextraction) and at the same time theoxygen concentration is reducedthrough water vapour, thus preventingoxygen supply to the fire source.

An operating pressure up to 250 barensures that the atomized water isreleased from the atomizer nozzle ofthe extinguishing pistol with highspeed. In this way it is also possible forthe water fog to penetrate and coolinaccessible areas apart from the firesource.

The recoil from the extinguishing pistolfelt by the fire fighter is very small, despite the high water pressure.

UHP 250 is the first high-pressureextinguishing unit which is testedand approved by the Institute of Fire Brigade North-Rhenish Westphalia, the official inspectionauthority for fire extinguishingagents and fire extinguishing units,Wohlbecker Strasse 237, D-48155 Munster, Germany, under approval no.:P 3-2/97 (Type W/WL) P 3-3/97 (Type WS)

10 advantages at a glance:

1. High absorption of heat due toextreme atomization of water.

2. Extremely fine water drops form ahighly expanded surface area ofwater, which means optimumutilization of its cooling effect.

3. Additional asphyxiating effect dueto transformation into water steam.

4. Direct switching from water fog tofoam operation at the extinguish-ing pistol (with preceding adjust-ment at the UHP 250 from waterto foam).

5. Friendly to environment due to a minimum water consumption(max. 25 l/min) and consequentavoidance of water damage.

6. The standard use of a 50 m highpressure hose permits local flexi-bility without having to move thecomplete unit.

7. The possibility of switching theextinguishing pistol from water fogto foam operation implies versatileapplications for the fire classes Aand B.

8. Extremely short extinguishing time– immediate extinguishing results.

9. Advantages of the UHP 250extinguishing technique comparedwith other extinguishing methods:– Even fires with evident glow

can be extinguished without any problems.

– The UHP 250 can be refilled withwater/ foam agent during oper-ation, i.e. continuous fire fighting without interruption is ensured.

– The repelling power is not dangerous.

The pressure of 250 bar does notinvolve any risks of injuries. Oneperson can operate the extinguish-ing pistol safely.

10. Compact design:a) Built-in version without extin-

guishing agent tank or wheels(L x W x H 1.000 x 560 x 560 mm)

b)Built-in version with 125 l extinguishing agent tank(L x W x H 1.000 x 560 x 960 mm)

c) Mobile version with extin-guishing agent tank and foam agent container (L x W x H 1.210 x 760 x 1.110 mm)
