Mr Calderon is a Mexican politician who served as the PRESIDENT OF MEXICO from 2006 to 2012. His administration raised awareness of environment issues including deforestation and climate change through various policy measures such as planting over 8 million trees, reduced deforestation and attracting green-technology companies and $2.5bn investment into the Mexican wind sector.
He also hosted the 2010 UN climate talks in Cancun. The meeting and subsequent Cancun Accord was a widely praised triumph for keeping countries together and was credited to the deft handling by Calderón and his team. Today Mr Calderon is Chair of the GLOBAL COMMISSION ON THE ECONOMY AND CLIMATE, and Mr Calderon is a leading voice, amongst a growing number, making the case that action on climate change does not need to come at the cost of economic growth.

Jeremy is a British green-energy entrepreneur, author and advocate who is founding director of Solarcentury (1997–present), the UK’S LARGEST INDEPENDENT SOLAR ELECTRIC COMPANY; founder and Chairman of SolarAid (2006–present), a charity set up with 5% of Solarcentury’s annual profits; and
Chairman of CarbonTracker, a financial-sector think-tank warning of carbon-fuel asset-stranding risk to the capital markets, colloquially known as the carbon bubble (2011–present). He is the author of four books on energy, climate change, and oil depletion. Leggett advocates renewable energy and a rapid managed
withdrawal from fossil fuels in the media and is a contributor to the UK’s Financial Times and the Guardian.

Dr Jacobson develops computer models about the effects of different energy technologies and their emissions on air pollution and climate. He has done influential research on the role of aerosols and black carbon on the climate and is regarded as a LEADING AEROSOL CLIMATE MODELER.
According to Jacobson, a speedy transition to clean, renewable energy is required to reduce the potential acceleration of global warming, including the disappearance of the Arctic Sea ice. This change will also eliminate 2.5–3 million deaths worldwide each year, related to air pollution, and reduce disruption associated with fossil fuel shortages. Jacobson has mainly studied how wind, water and solar technologies can provide 100 percent of the world’s energy, eliminating all fossil fuels and advocates a “SMART MIX” of renewable energy sources to reliably meet electricity demand. He is also engaged in THE SOLUTIONS PROJECT, an independent outreach effort led by Jacobson, actor Mark Ruffalo, and film director Josh Fox, which proposes a transition to a 100% renewable world.
