Our luxurious liveaboard MV Mermaid I is a 28 metre, twin engine steel motor yacht, built with a diver’s comfort in mind. The lower deck cabins are very comfortable offering ensuite bathrooms and unhindered, direct access to main deck gangways. All cabins are air conditioned, iPads for TV, toiletries and loads of fluffy towels. Our huge purpose built dive deck and wide stern dive platform with two exit ladders and fresh water showers area diver’s dream. 6 camera rinse tanks mean your valuable equipment is well looked after. Delicious Asian and western meals are served in our “Sawasdee Restaurant” with large windows to enjoy the views or how about trying our delicious BBQs! MV MERMAID I ITINERARY BALI-KOMODO-BALI 10 Days/9 Nights Dives

Day 1

Check-in on board Mermaid I between 13:00-15:00 hours at Benoa Harbour in Bali. After the boat and safety briefing, you’ll set up equipment and you can settle into your cabin. Mermaid I cruises into the sunset on her overnight journey to Moyo Island, north west Sumbawa, 145 nautical miles. 0

Day 2

Start your adventure with a great dive in the calm, clear waters of Angel Reef at Moyo Island. Massive elephant ear and barrel sponges, schools of longfin bannerfish and red tooth triggerfish, frogfish, nudibranchs, eels, surgeonfish, snappers and dogtooth tuna. Afterwards, Mermaid I will cruise for two and a half hours to Satonda Island for a macro dive followed by a world class night dive after watching a million bats fly at sunset. Cruise overnight to Gili Banta. 3

Day 3

We will do our first and second dive of the day in the area of Gili Banta and we will head to the northern islands of Komodo NP, Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat for an afternoon and night dive. 4

Day 4 Gili Lawalaut has several great dives - if the tide is right we hunt grey reef shark and dolphin at Taka

Toko Gili Lawalaut. Lighthouse Reef and The Old Passage offer fast drifts with pelagics, maybe manta! Crystal Rock offers awesome soft corals in gold and orange hues plus the chance for sharks, turtles, 4 Frogfish, slipper lobster, basket stars, robust sea cucumbers unique to the area plus more!

Day 5 3

Start your day with an exciting visit to Loh Liang Komodo National Park to walk with the dragons! As you quietly walk through the bush, look out for not only Komodo dragons, but deer, wild boar and birds as well. Next stop is a diver’s paradise - Horseshoe Bay at Rinca Island, home of one of the top ten dives in the world, Cannibal Rock. Here, you will discover an abundance of corals, sponges, ascidians, sea apples, black corals, turtle, cuttlefish, loads of reef fishes and so much more! You can also watch dragons scavenging on the beach as well as monkey, deer, wild pigs along the shore or go beach combing. There may even be a chance to follow whales and dolphin feeding in the calm bay. Mermaid I will overnight at this peaceful place, diving at one of the many fabulous spots for your night dive

Today you’ll head on over to Manta Alley to watch in awe as these magnificent creatures feed, play and get cleaned at the many cleaning stations. In the afternoon, you can do some more big fish dives at Tatawa Kecil or the infamous “Current City” Batu Bolong. Come face to face with reef sharks, turtles, Napoleon wrasse and more. Many good night dives around here as Wainilu 4

This will be our last day at Komodo NP, we will be diving around the central and northern part of Komodo, we will do 4 dives here. Then you’ll head off for a night dive at Gili Banta. Overnight, Mermaid I will cruise to Sangeang Volcano.

Sangeang is an active volcano off the north eastern coast of Sumbawa. Black sand, bubbles and a colorful reef and amazing critters are awaiting for you. After the night dive we will start cruising back to Moyo Island.

You will enjoy two dives around Sumbawa and Moyo Islands – a chance to shoot anything you missed at the beginning of the trip. Then the crew wash your equipment for you while you relax on the sundeck. 2

MERMAID I MAUMERE-ALOR-MAUMERE

Day 10 DAYS/9 NIGHTS ITINERARY Dives Day 1

Check-in on board MV Mermaid I between 12:00-15:00 hours in Maumere Harbour, Flores. After the boat and safety briefing, we'll set up equipment and you can settle into your cabin. Dinner will be served at 19:00 hours as we cruise into the sunset on our overnight journey to Kawula Island, east of Flores.

Day 2

We will start the trip by spending the day at Lewaling Bay, in the north of Kawula Island. The scenery of the bay is amazing since there are 2 volcanos in each side of the bay. There we will do 4 dives. The diving at Lewaling Bay is very diverse, consisting of walls, slopes and muck dives. With a great combination of large and small critters, from schooling barracudas and lots of schooling fish to pygmy seahorses. We will finish the day with a muck dive as a night dive in front of the village of Watu Warawutun, which stands at the bottom of one of the volcanos. After dinner we will cruise overnight to the Alor Islands, which are about 7 to 8 hours away.

Days 3-5 The next 2 days we will spend them diving around the Pantar Strait, which is the strait between the 2 major islands of Alor, Pantar Island and Alor Island. There are 4 islands in the Pantar Strait, Ternate in the north, Reta and Pura in the middle and Treweg in the south. Between these 4 islands plus the islands of Pantar and Alor, there are several dozen dive sites with an incredible variety of diving sceneries: walls with huge overhangs and hard coral gardens in the shallows, fringing reefs covered with pristine hard and soft corals and all kind of sponges surrounded by zillions of anthias and damsels, black sandy slopes covered with thousands of anemones, and muck dives where we can find rhinophias, fire sea urchins with coleman’s shrimps and zebra crabs, channels between the islands where you just drift with some strong currents and look out for pelagic fish passing by. The water temperature can vary greatly in this area. In the northern and middle area, the temperature is usually around 27 C. And in the south, it can vary from 21C to 25C. Currents can be extremely strong in the Pantar Strait, which usually makes for 30 mts plus visibility.

Day 6 On the fifth day of the trip, we will skip the 2 morning dives in order to visit a traditional village at Alor Island, where the locals will perform a local dance and where the guests will be able to buy locally made handicrafts. Then we will return to Mermaid I in order to have lunch and do 2 more dives at the Pantar Strait.

Day 7 Today Mermaid I will start cruising early in the morning in order to get to a small bay at the south tip of the Pantar Strait called Beanbagan, where we will spend the whole day. Or we will do 1 or 2 dives at Treweg Island and then move to Beanbagan. The dive sites at Treweg island

consist of rocky slopes covered in all kind of soft corals, and where one can just drift looking for all kind of pelagic fish such as dogtooth tunas and giant trevallies. The diving at Beanbagan Bay and village is very different from the rest of Alor. It consists mainly of blackish and grayish sand which is the perfect environment to find all kinds of different critters such as frogfish, ghost pipefish and different species of octopi. There is also a jetty at the village which large schools of scads and batfish. And it is also a great place to find more critters and all kind of nudis. The water temperature in the south of the Alor Islands can vary from 21C to 25C. After dinner we will cruise overnight to the village of Lamakera, in the south of Kawula Island

Day 8 We start the day doing a dive at a fringing reef in front of the whaling village of Lamakera. And then we will move to the small island of Suangi, in the south of Kawula Island, to do 2 dives. The waters surrounding Suangi and steaming with schooling fish, pelagic fish and it is also a place where sharks are usually spotted. We will again move the boat after the 4th dive to finish the day in the Solar Strait, south of Adonara Island, in order to a muck dive as a night dive.

Day 9 The last day of diving will be at the small island of Serbete, just northwest of Adonara island, where we will finish with 2 dives. Spectacular walls covered in soft corals and sponges, where one can spend time looking for tiny critters among the soft corals and sponges, or just drift along the wall looking at the spectacular views of the walls. Sadly, after the 2nd we will start heading back to Maumere, approximately 6 hours away.

Day 1

Check-in on board MV Mermaid I. As guest arrivals take place all through the day depending on flights you are welcome to board when you arrive and spend some time looking around Sorong, gearing up etc. Following the boat and safety briefing - its overnight to the Misool area, 90 nautical miles. It is almost impossible to put together a daily itinerary due to the magnificent diving everywhere we go. No trip is the same with so many different sites to visit and explore. If there is somewhere in particular you really have your heart set on please discuss with the Cruise Director who will do their utmost to get you there – conditions, ship and your safety allowing!

Day 2-5 Misool is the southern island of Raja Ampat. Misool has many groups of islands and there are literally hundreds of dive sites around this magnificent area for all our guests. This is the entrance to divers' paradise and we will be here for a few days. Soft coral heaven and gorgeous gorgonian sea fans are the highlights of Misool. Pygmy seahorses are easily found in almost all the dive sites of Misool! Pinnacles and underwater seamounts with masses of fish, and visits of pelagics such as Giant Manta Rays, sharks and more await you in Misool. Some of the best areas in Misool include Sagof, Wagmab, Farondi, Boo, Fiabacet, Yuliet, Wailbatan, Warakaret and Pele.

Day 6-8 Perhaps you will spend a day around the southern part of Batanta Island, where the diving is done on a black sand environment. This is where all the weird and wonderful creatures that you have seen in coffee table books like to live! Dive around the island of Kawe, a great place for schooling fish with beautiful reefs covered in black coral bushes and a very good chance to have encounters with Manta Rays. There is a pearl farm in Aljui Bay, where you can take a tour to learn about the entire process of pearl farming. You can even buy pearls if you wish! Diving in Aljui bay is good for macro as well as wide angle. You will find walls covered in soft corals and sea fans, lots of nudibranchs and pygmy seahorses. There is also a great night dive at the jetty where some of the highlights are the Raja epaulette shark (a species of “walking shark”), wobbegongs, crocodile fish, toadfish, frogfish and more. Heading to the central part of Raja Ampat dive around the island of Yanggefo, with beautiful mangrove areas, stunning reefs covered in orange and purple soft corals and submerged reef with lots of schooling fish.

Arborek and Sawanderek Villages are some of the most beautiful islands to visit and great to dive under their jetty! The jetty pillars are covered in soft corals – a photographer’s delight and also good for macro such as signal gobies, nudibranchs, pipefish, blue ringed octopus and more. The Mantas are then calling Mermaid I to visit the famous Dampier Strait in the central part of Raja Ampat. Here Mantas hang out at their cleaning stations along with all the schooling fish that the sites have to offer. At some of the sites in the Dampier Strait, the macro marine life is amazing with critters such as the seamoth, Pontohi pygmy seahorse, pipefish and more. The Dampier Strait is also well known for an incredible amount of schooling fish. There are several pinnacles with zillions of fish. The tips (capes) of several islands are also home to lots of schooling fish - barracudas, bigeye jacks, snappers, zillions of fusiliers and surgeonfish and much more. As if that weren’t enough, here you can find lots of wobbegong sharks too.

Day 9 The last two dives of your cruise will be done in Dampier Strait area, where big schools of fish and glorious corals are simply amazing! After the second dive MV Mermaid I must go back to Sorong. The crew will take care of rinsing your equipment and there’s time to pack during this 5 - 6 hour run.

Day 2-3 The first two diving days of the trip will be spent around the Dampier Strait, the strait between the island of Waigeo, the Bird’s Head peninsula and the northern side of Batanta Island. The Dampier Strait is known for a huge variety of diving, from giant mantas to mangroves, beautiful reefs, many pinnacles and sea mounts covered in schooling fish, aggregations of sweetlips, schooling barracudas, bumphead parrotfish, fusiliers and lots of wobbegong sharks. It is also a great location for critters and macro subjects, with several species of pygmy seahorses and a large variety of nudibranchs. There are also several jetties to do some great night dives, where you can see the Raja epaulette shark, toadfish, frogfish and crocodile fish. Cruise overnight to Misool, 90 nautical miles.

Day 4-5 The next 2 days will be around the island of Misool, where there literally hundreds of dive sites. Misool is a

heaven for wide angle photographers. The prettiest soft corals reefs in the world are located in Misool, as well as having multiple pinnacles surrounded by masses of schooling fish, barracudas, jacks and snappers. There will be some excursions with the tenders through some amazing inner lagoons, fantastic scenery and wild life sightings. Cruise overnight to Pulau Koon. 7

Day 6 Pulau Koon is a small island on the southeast of Ceram, half way between Raja Ampat and the Banda Islands. Walls covered in soft corals, and sandy slopes with hard coral bommies. But the most interesting feature of this island is the amount of schooling fish and pelagic, barracudas, bigeye trevallies, aggregation of red snappers, pompanos, batfish, and giant groupers. Cruise overnight to the Banda Islands

Day 7-8 The next two days will be spent in the Banda Islands, formerly known as the Spice Islands. Many of the dive sites around the Bandas are wall dives. The walls are covered in massive gorgonians, soft corals, barrel sponges and have some very interesting swim throughs. But there are other attractive dive sites such as pinnacles with enormous groups of schooling pyramid butterflyfish, triggerfish and pelagic fish such as tunas passing through, spectacular hard coral reefs next to the volcano, and great muck dives with lots of mandarin fish at the local jetty. The Banda Islands are much more than diving. It is also a cultural and historical experience. You will spend one morning walking around the village of Banda Neira with a local guide, visiting the local

museum, the old Dutch fort, the old colonial governor’s house, the local fish market and a nutmeg plantation, where you will have breakfast. Cruise overnight to Manuk, 55 nautical miles.

Day 9 Manuk, an active volcano, is one of two places in Indonesia where there are huge aggregations of sea snakes: Chinese sea snakes and banded sea kraits. It is an incredible experience to dive surrounded on all sides by sea snakes. The island is surrounded by black sandy slopes with hard coral reefs and volcanic ridges covered in gorgonians with zillions of fusiliers and pelagic fishes such as Spanish mackerels and dogtooth tunas passing through. Cruise overnight to Serua Island, 55 nautical miles.

Day 10 Serua Island is probably one of the most emblematic spots in the Banda Sea to see schooling hammerhead sharks. Also an amazing site to see schooling fish such as big eye trevallies, pinjalo snappers and others. Surrounding Nila Island there are two atolls, Dusborgh and Nil Desperandum. It’s at these two atolls that there is a good chance of seeing hammerhead sharks. Even without the hammerheads, the reefs are fabulous, with healthy walls and big schools of fish. Cruise to Damar Islands, 90 nautical miles. 4

Day 11 Today you will dive several small islands – Neus Leur, Terbang Seletan and Terbang Utara. The island of Damar and its three surrounding small islands have spectacular diving. Like many dives in the Banda Sea, there is crystal clear water and beautiful walls covered in massive sponges and beautiful soft corals. Cruise to Wetar Island, 150 nautical miles.

Day 12 After cruising every night for one week, Mermaid I will have finally crossed the Banda Sea and arrived at the island of Wetar. At Wetar, you will do three dives at the small island of Reong and at Cape Nunukae. Pulau Reong is a small island on the northwest coast of Wetar and is separated by a small channel only 700 metres wide. More walls, like many of the dive sites in the Banda Sea, covered in small soft corals but of a great variety of colours and zillions of triggerfish of every species. Cape Nunukae, about 6 nautical miles southwest of Pulau Reong, is a large ridge with slopes on both sides, covered with a hard coral reef on the shallow area of the ridge and soft corals on the slopes in the deeper areas. Strong currents can be had at the end of the ridge, where large aggregations of schooling fish can be found. Cruise overnight to Alor, 95 nautical miles.

Day 13-14 Alor is one of the old time favourite dive spots for divers coming to Indonesia year after year due to its variety of dive sites. Healthy reefs, pinnacles, walls, great muck dives, cold water, warm water, strong currents and protected areas. Alor has it all. Cruise overnight to Kawula Island (90nm) or Serbete Island (120 nm).

Day 9-10 Banda Islands for the next 2 days! Walls, swim throughs, sponges and sea fans – good diving and great for wide angle. Several sites have swim throughs large enough for several people to go through at the same time and is especially nice for wide angle shots, as they are covered in soft corals and sponges. Dive sites in the Banda Islands drop down thousands of metres, offering spectacular walls and stunning reef tops, with visibility usually in the 40-50 metre range. Pulau Reong is a small island on the northwest coast of Wetar and separated by a small channel only 700 metres wide. More walls, like many of the dive sites in the Banda Sea, covered in small soft corals but of a great variety of colours, with zillions of triggerfish of every species.

Cape Nunukae, about 6 nautical miles southwest of Pulau Reong, is a large ridge with slopes on both sides, covered with a hard coral reef on the shallow area of the ridge, with soft corals on the slopes in the deeper areas. There can be strong currents at the end of the ridge, where large aggregations of schooling fish can be found. Cruise overnight to the Damar Islands, 150 nautical miles.

Day 7 Surrounding Nila Island there are two atolls, Dusborgh and Nil Desperandum. It’s at these two atolls that there is a good chance of seeing hammerhead sharks. Even without the hammerheads, the reefs are fabulous, with healthy walls and big schools of fish. Cruise overnight to Damar, 90 nautical miles.

Day 8 Today you will dive several small islands – Neus Leur, Terbang Seletan and Terbang Utara. The island of Damar and its three surrounding small islands have spectacular diving. Like many dives in the Banda Sea, there is crystal clear water and beautiful walls covered in massive sponges and beautiful soft corals. Cruise to Wetar Island, 150 nautical miles.

Day 9 In Wetar you will dive at the small island of Reong and at Cape Nunukae.

Pulau Reong is a small island on the northwest coast of Wetar and separated by a small channel only 700 metres wide. More walls, like many of the dive sites in the Banda Sea, covered in small soft corals but of a great variety of colours, with zillions of triggerfish of every species. Cape Nunukae, about 6 nautical miles southwest of Pulau Reong, is a large ridge with slopes on both sides, covered with a hard coral reef on the shallow area of the ridge, with soft corals on the slopes in the deeper areas. There can be strong currents at the end of the ridge, where large aggregations of schooling fish can be found. Cruise overnight to Alor, 95 nautical miles.

Day 10 Alor is a favourite dive spot for divers coming to dive Indonesia year after year due to its variety of dive sites. Healthy reefs, pinnacles, walls, great muck dives, cold water, warm water, strong currents and protected areas. Alor has it all. Cruise overnight to Kawula Island (90nm) or Serbete Island (120 nm)

Day 1

Check-in on board Mermaid I. Once all guests are on board a safety briefing will be given. If all the guests are on board by 12,00 hours, you have the chance to do 2 extra dives at Lembeh Strait in some fabulous muck dives with critters galore.

Day 2 Lembeh Strait – some of the best muck diving in Indonesia! Black sand, white sand, gray sand environments full of critters. Frogfish, all kinds of octopi, spiny devilfish, nudibranchs galore and so much more. Cruise overnight to Tanjung Flesko, 70 nautical miles.

Day 3 Today we will spend the day at Tanjung Flesko, which is the northern cape of the Tomimi Bay. Drifting with some strong currents next to walls and slopes covered in an amazing variety of soft corals. Just let yourself go with the current and enjoy the reef scenery. From Lembeh we will call the whale shark center at Gorontalo, and if the center tells us that there are whale sharks in the area, we will cruise overnight to Gorontalo. But if there are no whale sharks, then we can either spend a day diving in Gorontalo or head straight to the Togians. Cruise overnight to Gorontalo, 85 nautical miles.

Day 4

Snorkeling in Gorontalo with whale sharks. If we are unlucky because there are no whale sharks around, then we will do 2 dives at Gorontalo. Then we will cruise overnight to the volcano of Una Una, the most eastern island of the Togians. Cruise overnight to Gorontalo – 95 nautical miles. Dives – 2 or snorkeling with the whale sharks.

Day 5 The 5th day of the trip will be spent at the Volcano of Una Una. Unlike the rest of the Togian Islands, Una Una does not have any white sandy beaches, all the sand around the island is either black or gray. The volcano is short, rising 500 meters above sea level with a 2 km wide caldera, and the last time it erupted was in 1.983. Una Una is one of the great diving spots in the Togians. It has over 35 different dive sites, enough to spend several days diving. It is also one of the best dive sites to see massive schools of blacktail barracudas, schooling bigeye trevallies, and passing pelagic such as tunas. Cruise overnight to Batudaka Island or Togian Island – 58 nautical miles.

Day 6-7 The next 2 days will be spent in the north of the islands Batudaka, Togian and Malingi and Kadidiri where there is a reef system that is about 165 km long with plenty of dive sites such as Nursery Rock, Kota Wall, Gap, Crack, Shark Rock, Dominic Rock, Labyrinth, Taipi, Batu Gila, Lost Reef, Kadidiri House Reef and Malingi. We will also visit several atolls that are north of Batudaka where you can dive both in the inside of the atoll as well as on the outside next to walls full of overhangs and swim-throughs. Or dive at the volcanic island of Tapuan which is a volcanic island surrounded by a reef and deep drop off walls..

Day 8-9 The next several days we will be diving on the south cost of Togian, where there are deep pinnacles surrounded by schooling fish, and also where we can find a WWII wreck, a B-24 bomber. The “Consolidated B-24 Bomber Liberator” lies between 16 and 22 meters over a sandy bottom. The plane is in a fairly good condition. You can still see the two barrels of the turret gun as well as the instruments in the cockpit. We will also spend some time diving around the islands of Walea, Puah and Dondola. These islands are surrounded by reef barriers where you can find plenty of schooling fish as well as good macro life. Then we will cruise from Dondola Island to Pulau Dua, which is the southern cape of the Gulf of Tomimi, 60 nautical miles

Day 10 Around Pulau Dua there are several pinnacles, some that break the surface, and some that the top are

16-18 meters deep. These pinnacles are completely covered in soft corals and huge amounts of schooling fish. Cruise overnight to Tanjung Ratatotok – 100 nautical miles.

Day 11 The final day of diving will be spent around Ratatotok where we can find some really amazing hard coral gardens before heading back to Bitung. Cruise back to Bitung, 70 nautical miles.

This is always subject to weather conditions and security/safety issues. Dive site selection detailed in the published itinerary is subject to change by the Captain or Cruise Director without prior notice. There are numerous fantastic sites in all the areas we visit and our objective is to take you to the best of the best! Repeat guests – we’ll take you to some new sites or more of those you really love! What diver certification level is needed for diving in Indonesia? Everyone is welcome on board, no matter what level your certification. Dive groups and site selection will be chosen to meet your safety, comfort and diving ability – and is subject to the discretion of the Cruise Director. Our professional dive crew will take you on the easy route or to another site if you don’t like currents. If you are up for it, we’ll take you right into it for all the action the site offers ! You may wish to bring a reef hook for some dive sites or buy one on board. Dive Guides and Diver Safety: Our experienced dive crew would be delighted to assist you. Divers are welcome to dive unguided with their buddy on sites deemed suitable by the Cruise Director. For diver safety the use of individual dive computers is mandatory for all divers. Nitrox fills and courses are available on board to enhance your diving safety. Please allow 24 hours between last dive and flying. Guests are requested to show diving certification cards on checking in and are strongly recommended to have valid dive insurance (Padi, Dan or equivalent). Departure and Arrival Times: Bali Departures: Boarding time at Benoa Passenger Pier at Benoa Harbor Bali is between 13:00-15:00 hours for our 16:00 hour departure. Guests arriving before 12 noon on departure day will be transferred to Mermaid Liveaboards guest lounge at All 4 Diving at Sanur Beach where you can leave your luggage in safety till boarding transfer at 14:00 hours. After meeting the friendly crew at All 4 Diving you can relax on the beach, enjoy a massage, and go sight-seeing or shopping till 14:00 hours when you will be transferred to the vessel. Bali Transfer Times: 12:30 – Nusa Dua, Ullawatu, Canggu, Kerobokan, 13:00 Jimbaran, Seminyak. 13:30 Kuta Beach, Legian, 14:00 Sanur Beach; 11:00 Tulamben; 12:00 Candi Desa, Padangbai, Ubud. The time is to be advised for other locations in Bali. If you are making your own way to the port – please let us know at least 2 weeks prior to the cruise. Boarding time for “own transport” guests is 13:00-14:00 hours please. Maumere Flores Transfer Times: We will meet all flights and bring you straight to the vessel on cruise departure day or from your hotel by approx.12 noon. Guests are recommended to arrive one day prior, to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area and to be sure you can make your cruise connection. Lembeh – Manado Transfer Times: This cruise does not focus on Lembeh so it is a great idea to combine a Lembeh land based dive trip with your cruise for the best of the best ! Or if you are staying in Lembeh, we will coordinate the best transfer method with your resort and advise. If you arrive early why not dive Bunaken or Bangka islands or Lembeh or take a highland tour to visit local flower market and lunch in a restaurant located above Tondano Lake. Sorong Raja Ampat Transfer Times: We will co-ordinate your arrival and collect you from the airport or your hotel and bring you direct to the vessel. There are several reasonable hotels in Sorong plus there are some wonderful island retreats around and about that you may wish to stay at before or after your cruise. We are happy to assist with ground transport, accommodations, resort stays/local diving and flight ticketing. Please contact [email protected] Ambon Transfer Times: We will co-ordinate with you for your arrival or departure transferring you from/to the airport or from/to your hotel within the city limits Domestic Flights: The majority of local flights need to be booked in Indonesia. Some airlines accept internet bookings such as Silk Air and Lion Air and surely more will come on line too. However, we are happy to assist [email protected] and we only add a nominal service fee to cover admin fees. Guests are strongly advised to arrive at least 1 day prior to their cruise to avoid any delays. Water Temperature and Wetsuit recommendations: Bali-Komodo-Bali: The Flores Sea with its usually clear blue waters, great visibility has water temperatures of approx. 26-28 degrees (northern dive locations) –most guests comfortable with a 3-5mm long. The Sumba Sea (southern dive locations) has an average temperature of approx. 24 degrees – the awesome diving lets you forget about the cooler waters! Think about a 5mm long possibly adding a vest or renting a shorty to go over the top if you feel the cold. Hood, gloves and booties are strongly recommended for these cooler waters. The Alor region can also share some surprisingly cool waters like Komodo so a thicker suit is recommended and we have rentals available on board. Raja Ampat/Misool area: The water temperature around the 4 Kings of Raja Ampat and Misool area is 28-30 degrees Celsius year round. We recommend a 3 mm long wetsuit. If you get chilly, maybe a vest for under you suit. Biodiversity Special: Water temperatures will range between 26-30 degrees Celsius. We have a selection of long and short wetsuits on board which you can rent if you are cold or change into if you are too warm in your suit. Equipment on board: Rental is charged on a “per diving day” basis. Full rental equipment is available. Dive computers are mandatory – 1 per diver. Please advise your rental equipment needs including sizes when you book. Both vessels carry mostly 12 liter tanks plus some15 liter tanks available. There is no additional cost for a 15 liter tank or 15 liter nitrox fill – however it is subject to availability and the Cruise Director’s discretion as to who needs the larger tanks on each cruise. Tank valves are international and some DIN adapters are available on board. Any dive equipment failure or loss will require you to rent a replacement from Mermaid Liveaboards at our published rates. If Mermaid Liveaboard equipment is lost/damaged, full replacement cost will be charged at the discretion of the Cruise Director. Published equipment prices are available on board. Camera Stations: There are several large tables on the dive deck with many rinse containers for small to super large camera/video setups. There are charging stations in every cabin plus throughout the saloon area. Usually our dive crew will have a laptop available in case you experience any problems with yours. As possible, we also offer transfer to USB/ DVD burning service in case you cannot bring your laptop with you. Electrical current and plugs: 220 volts is standard throughout the boat. Please ask the Tour Leader on boarding if you are not sure what to use. We have a few adapters on board. The cabins can handle both the following plug types:-

Meals: Our on board Chefs are excellent, preparing a variety of Thai, Indonesian and Western dishes. Please advise any special meal requirements on the guest information form. Currency: Please pay all on board costs in € Euros, $ US or Indonesian Rupiah. We can also accept credit card payment – Visa or Mastercard only - for all on board costs. We suggest you also have some rupiah for souvenir shopping, massages, small items etc. Exchange rates vary throughout Indonesia – the further away from Bali the lower the exchange rate. The airport’s rate is lower than the rate you find at most small currency exchanges in Bali. Bank rates are low and take a long time. $ US and € Euros are accepted by the souvenir sellers in the Komodo National Park but rupiah is preferred. There are several currency exchange services and ATM machines near Mermaid Liveaboards in Sanur and in all areas we cruise. Have a plentiful supply of rupiah for the more exotic cruises as the local villagers will come to the vessels with affordable and magical souvenirs you will not be able to resist. Crew Tips/Gratuity: Our Boat and Dive Crews will try very hard to deliver a high level of service, safety and professionalism tempered with lots of fun to optimize your holiday. Many of our guests use 5-10% of the cruise price as a tipping guideline. Tipping is voluntary and most appreciated !

Luggage and what should I bring: All luggage will be taken on board. For Komodo cruises only If you have large bags you do not need on the trip, please arrange to leave at your hotel or at Mermaid Liveaboards in Sanur. Other items you may need on board are bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, sunscreen, mosquito repellant and a light weight jacket or sweater. Good walking shoes for your time in Komodo National Park and for hiking to view points and also walking through the jungles in search of the wondrous Bird of Paradise in Raja Ampat! (Trainers are fine – slip on sandals not recommended). Can I be contacted while on board: Both our vessels are equipped with state of the art satellite phone systems. Medical Assistance: We cruise to remote areas however we are prepared to handle most accident or medical emergencies. Mermaid’s management team is available 24 hours a day via our satellite communications to expedite tried and tested emergency evacuation plans to the nearest recompression chamber and/or hospital in Bali or Makasar or the nearest available chamber. Our dive crews are first aid trained and we have an extensive first aid kit on board plus loads of emergency oxygen. Please bring any of your own medications that you may need. You can help as well by making sure you are in good condition for diving – prevention is always better than the cure. Please remember to dive safely and to make sure your Dan Diver’s Alert Network or other dive insurance is up to date. Guests over the age of 75 are required to provide medical clearance to dive assessed within 1 month prior to the set cancellation terms if any refund will be required. Malaria: Raja Ampat area There is malaria in the region for the Raja Ampat cruise – this area is around the equator and we recommend you discuss this with your doctor. Certainly, when we walk in the jungle early mornings you will need to cover up well and also use mosquito repellant. We have a supply on board but suggest you bring your preferred brands. And from the Raja Ampat Tourism Association: Papua is a malaria area and you are advised to take precautions and follow the advice from your local health centre. Note that the medication Lariam has limited effectiveness in this area due to a resistant strain of Malaria and is not recommended. Alternatives could be Malarone or doxicycline. Malaria – Komodo area Generally speaking basic precautions such as covering at dawn/dusk and using mosquito repellent for land tours is satisfactory. If you are in doubt whatsoever, please liaise with your doctor. Children’s Policy: We welcome children aged 8 years and older on Mermaid Liveaboards. Diving child 10 years or older - pays full diver price. Non diving child 10 years or older - pays full non diver rate. Child 8/9 years - non diving - pays 50% of diver rate if shares with 2 parents/guardians. Child 9/8 years and under - non diving - pays full non diver rate if sharing with only 1 parent/guardian. Parents/guardians have to be with the child at all times. If both parents want to dive and the child remains on board, we will hire an additional crew - at euros 50 per day x total number of cruise days - at the parent's cost to supervise the child's activities only while the parents/guardians are in the water. Please note this service is available for Komodo and subject to confirmation for Raja Ampat and other areas. Please also note a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice is required to arrange this service. In case of Full Boat charter – guest’s age is up to the organizer of the charter but supervision conditions are as per the above. Acceptance of the booking means that you and/or your agent agree to the terms and conditions as outlined below in their entirety. Payments are to be made by telegraphic transfer in Euros, remitter to pay all charges, to the account nominated on your invoice only. Please send a copy of your transfer advice by scan email to [email protected] when you process payment and we will confirm receipt as soon as it arrives in our bank. Payment via PayPal is accepted at no additional fee for guest cruise payments. Sorry we do not accept Agent cruise payments via Credit Card, Traveler’s cheques, Personal cheques or Money orders. On board sales are accepted in Euros, US dollars, Indonesia Rupiah or via credit card at no fee to the guest. Please note on board credit card charges will be processed in Indonesian rupiah only as per government regulation.

Mermaid Liveaboards reserves the right to alter published rates without prior notice and/or to introduce any other fees as deemed necessary by the company eg fuel surcharges. Mermaid Liveaboards also is held accountable solely by the laws of Indonesia and as they apply to the parent company - PT Indonesia Liveaboards. Any contractual laws from countries other than Indonesia are outside of our concern. Full Boat Charter or Group Bookings Deposits, Payments and Cancellations -

Mermaid I (8 or more guests) Mermaid II (9 or more guests) : Mermaid I Full Boat Charter is 15 guests, a group is a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 guests. For Mermaid II a Full Boat Charter is 18 to 20 guests, a group is a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12 guests. If group/charter payment terms are not met, the space will be immediately released for resale and cancellation terms below will be applied. - 10% non-refundable/non transferable deposit is required within 10 business days of booking - next 25% of the total cost to be paid at least 120 days before the cruise departure date - Balance, 65% of the total cost to be paid at least 90 days before the cruise departure date. FULL BOAT CHARTER OR GROUP CANCELLATIONS: More than 120 days before the departure date: all payments will be refunded, less the 10% initial deposit. Less than 120 days but more than 90 days before the departure date: all payments will be refunded, less 10% deposit and 25% of the total cost. If cancellation is made for part of the charter/group then the refund will be pro-rated accordingly. Change from Full Boat down to Group booking: any FOC concessions will be cancelled in their entirety. Change from Full Boat Charter or Group down to less than Group number of guests then any discount will be forfeited. Less than 90 days before the departure date: no refunds will be made and date transfers are not accepted for any reason.

Travel Services – Terms and Conditions Deposits, Payments and Cancellations - PT Indonesia Liveaboard’s Service fees - €30 for initial booking per person; subsequent transfers or cancellations or amendments - €20 per person plus any/all change of booking fee as nominated by the airline/hotel etc. Cancellation/amendment/date change etc are subject to terms and conditions nominated by the relevant airline/hotel etc. Mermaid Liveaboards and PT Indonesia Liveaboards reserve the right to cancel any trip if there is less than the equivalent of 2 deluxe cabin guests for all cruises or 6 deluxe cabin guests for BioDiversity Specials. Mermaid Liveaboards and PT Indonesia Liveaboards do not accept any legal liability for loss or damage to any luggage or dive equipment while being transferred to/from the vessel nor while on board. We will offer every assistance possible to help with any insurance claims for lost or damaged property. Guests will be charged for repair/replacement of damaged/lost equipment deemed by the Tour Leader/Cruise Director/company management to have occurred due to the guest’s negligence

Lastly, Mermaid Liveaboards nor PT Indonesia Liveaboards do not offer refunds in the event of personal injury, airplane delay, mechanical breakdowns, weather, sickness, strikes, war, criminal acts, quarantine, acts of god, if another guest requires immediate evacuation and the vessel must return to port or any other event beyond its actual control Guests are strongly advised to have valid dive medical, travel and cancellation insurances. Guests are also strongly recommended to plan their holidays to arrive in the departure ports at least 1 day prior to the cruise. Please remember you are going to some truly exotic locations where the infrastructure is still being developed.
