January 2013, Issue 7 Jalsa At Lahore In a public notice issued on 7 th December 1892 the Promised Messiah (AS) announced that there would be an annual congregation at Qadian at the time of Christmas holidays. After the Promised Messiah’s departure when Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ali was forced to move to Lahore, this tradition was continued at Lahore. When Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad announced the gathering he said: The main objective of this Convention is to enable every sincere attendee to experience for himself its religious benefits. They may enhance their knowledge. And their insight [of Allah] may progress due to their being blessed and enabled by Ahamdiyya Anjuman Ishaat Islam Lahore 15 Stanley Avenue, Wembley, UK, HAO 4JQ [email protected] The Muslim News and His prophet (peace be upon him.). Allah rewards the sincere for every step of their path, and no labour and hardship, undertaken in His way, ever goes to waste. I stress: you must not class this gathering as other, ordinary, human assemblies. This is based purely on the Divine Help, for propagation of Islam. He finished: I end with the prayer that everyone who travels to attend this Convention that is for the sake of Allah: May Allah, the Exalted, be with him, reward him in abundant measure, have mercy on him, make easy for him his circumstances of hardship and anxiety and remove his distress and grief. May He free him from every all hardships and open for him the ways of [attaining] his cherished goals, on the day of Judgment raise him up, among those of His servants who are the recipients of His blessings and Mercy. May He be their Guardian in their absence until after their journey ends. O Allah! O Sublime One and Bestower of bounties, the Ever Merciful and One Who Resolves all problems, grant all these prayers, and grant us Victory over our opponents with dazzling signs, because You alone have all the prowess and power.
