  • Staffing Updates

We are pleased to announce that Ms Lewis, our current receptionist, has been appointed as our new Senior Administrator starting in September. We are delighted that she will be taking on the role and supporting HNPS with all the jobs that are so important in ensuring the smooth running of the school. Many of you will remember Ms Ismail who worked with so many of your children when in Reception Class. We are so pleased that Ms Ismail will be returning to HNPS and will be joining the reception year group team.

Mr Green who has been supporting us with releasing teachers from class to carry out their planning, preparation and assessment tasks will be leaving us this school year. Mr Green has worked in a number of schools supporting cover for teachers and luckily for us he has been a permanent fixture at HNPS this year.

Thank you HNPS Families What a wonderful surprise you had for us this morning. Thank you so much for the fantastic HNPS Memory Book. We haven’t had a chance to read through it in detail but all of us will enjoy flicking through the pages and reading the messages you have collated for us. A book to be treasured by us all!

    Reception News

It’s been a fantastic last week in Reception, as a team we are so proud of all that the children have accomplished especially considering the exceptional circumstances. Even

  • in the last week they have worked exceptionally hard, they have completed lots of transitional activities for moving on to their new class including making puppets for their next class (turtles or penguins) and writing letters to their new class teachers. Some of the children have learnt some facts about their new class animal. In Maths we have been combining amounts and problem solving with number stories. All of your teachers want to say thank you for all your hard work and continue to be the superstars that you all are. Have a lovely summer and continue to shine in Year 1.

    Year 1 News

We had a wonderful last week in Year 1. We have made it all the way to the end of the school year and during these interesting times you have all worked incredibly hard! In maths this week, we focused on money and bought items from a pretend shop. For English we wrote a comparative poem, comparing ourselves to an animal. We used our poems to write a description of ourselves which we edited and published for our teachers next year. In art we used clay to make a detailed model of our faces, many of you enjoyed doing this activity in school! Your teachers in Year 1 wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for your hard work, lovely conversations and amazing achievements this year. We wish you the very best in Year 2!

    Year 2 News

We have made it through to the end of the school year and what an unusual time it has been! Thanks to everyone for your consistently high quality work.

  • In maths we have been enjoying playing a variety of games. English involved examining poetry and writing about objects of significance to us. In history this week, we have been studying Paul Stephenson’s bus boycott which was a peaceful protest based on the discrimination against black people working on buses. In religious education this week, we have been exploring what community and belonging mean to us all while focusing on Hajj and understanding how important this journey is for Muslims.

    Year 3 News

. We made it Polar Pandas! You have completed your final week of learning in Year 3. It has been great to see so many of you get stuck into creative writing in English; we can't wait for you to continue writing your stories over summer and sharing them with us in September. Mr Gaffney's puzzles have continued to challenge you, with some of you even asking for more! In RE this week we have loved seeing which religion you enjoyed learning about the most this year; you created posters and very professional looking slides to showcase this. We wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for all your hard work this year and especially for your dedication to learning during school closures. You are all amazing and we wish you the best summer and look forward to seeing you again as Year 4 pupils. Take care and see you soon.

    Year 4 News

Here we are at the end of this school year. Thank you for your hard work all the way through, you have impressed us all with your resilience. In English this week we have been reflecting on year 4 and looking forward to September. We have written letters to our new teachers, created comic strips about our first day in year 4 and even written school reports for our teachers. None of you were too harsh so thank you for your kind words! In maths we have been problem solving, using lots of different knowledge we

  • have gained this year. It has been wonderful to see you all thriving in your maths. We also wrapped up our science and art and DT lessons, we’ve loved seeing your completed models of London landmarks. We’ve uploaded them to Google Classroom so you can check out each others! Have a wonderful summer holiday year 4. We hope you have time to relax and do things you enjoy. It has been a pleasure teaching you all this year and we look forward to seeing you soon!
