Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

I think the lyrics are what the singer is saying to her friend. It’s only telling us what the singer’s side of the conversation is and not telling us what the singer’s friend is saying back to her. In the video we see an actor singing to a room of people but mainly one person. I think this is saying that when the actor told the person about how he feels he is telling everyone. The actor is in a room with mostly men and the actor is still singing to the same person without noticing everyone dancing in front of him. I think this shows that he won’t do anything if his friend doesn’t want him too. The lyrics also don’t mention that the actor is a transvestite. I think this is sending a message out saying that it doesn’t matter what you are and that people of the LGBT community don’t really see it as a problem. The singer says “Has he mentioned my age, love, or is he more into young girls, with dyed black hair?” The singer is saying that he’s more worried about the brother not liking him for his age rather than the fact he is a man.

Tempo The tempo of the music is slow and chilled. The tempo picks up closer to the end when everyone gets up and dances.

Genre It’s hard to actually say the genre of this song because there is some parts that song electronic and there are bits that have a Jamaican vibe.

Camera Technique The camera shots used are; close ups, mid shots, two shots and long shots. The close up is used at the beginning when the actor is turning the music on and the close ups continue in various parts of the video whilst the actor is miming.

The mid shots are used when the actor is singing and also to show some of the people watching him.

The two shots are the most used camera shots in the music video because it is used when it is showing the people watching and also at the end when people start to get up and dance.

The long shot is used the least in the video. It is only used once to show the actors full body whilst singing.

Editing The editing techniques used are cutting. The cutting from different scenes happens every few seconds.

Use of Digital Effects They used colour correction to fade the colour out of the video.
