Music Magazine Proposal Form

Target audience: (age range, interests)

My target audience young people that are interested in the activities and things that happen in celebrities lives. I have decided to make my magazine unisex so even though the main story will be aimed at women, my second story will be more aimed at males. After making this decision I decided to make my magazine very sophisticated and make my main story an interview about the life of the celebrity that I’m focusing on.

Possible title ideas: (masthead / title block)What is your magazine going to be called?

I have decided to name my magazine “Temptation”.

Main image:What will be the focal point of your front page, remember, your work

My main image is going to be of a woman that is going to be very seductive. To do this I’m going to use a close up shot and have her looking into the camera.

Main cover line:What will be the main story?

My main story is going to be an interview on the artist that I’m looking at.

Additional key images:What other images will be on your front cover?

I will have medium and long shots of other artists on my front cover and my contents page.

Additional cover lines:Other features, stories or selling points which will be inside the magazine, this needs to be audience appropriate.

On my magazine I’m going to have quotes from other stories so that it entices the reader to read the magazine if they aren’t interested in the main story.

Typography: (style, size, colour of copy)Think about the writing and the style of the writing on your front page.

My theme is going to be red and black. I have chosen these two colours because they are both bold colours and they will stand out.

Background colour/image:What will be in the background, remember you don’t want to take the focus away from the main image.

My background is going to black and plain so that it doesn’t take the attention from the writing and the images. It also means that the magazine won’t look too busy if it looks simple but effective.

Technical considerations:(equipment, setting, props, costume, lighting)Be realistic and creative, think about what you have access to and how you could use it.

The person that I have chosen to be on my front cover is going to be wearing red, I have chosen this colour because my magazine is going to be black and the main story is going to be written in red so the audience will be able to see that the story is linked to them.

2 Page Spread:(What will be the main article in your magazine?)This will need to be the main story on your cover, what detail will be featured

My main article is going to be an interview of what the celebrity has been dong recently with music and all her new releases etc
