Auction ItemsAuctioneer: Peter Costanzo, Doyle-New York

In 1994, we organized the first outpatient service for family medicine based on what I learned in Salzburg. Now the whole hospital works according to these guidelines and we have nine outpatient services for 140,000 patients. Your seminars helped us a lot and our services are much better now.

Dzehemma Dzhafarova, MDPrince Leo Hospital, Lviv, Ukraine

Thanks to this program I had a chance to meet with colleagues, participate in experience exchange, in short I received all that is impossible to receive in my country. We from the former Soviet Union consider this experience instrumental and very useful.

Irina Gasanova, MD, PhDClinic for Neurology, Baku, Azerbaijan

Each year, the OMI awards 1,550 fellowships to young, highly qualified, English-speaking physicians from countries in transition. They spend a week in Salzburg at Schloss Arenberg with an exceptional faculty who share their knowledge and experience pro bono.

At the beginning of the week they are a group of strangers from 35 different countries; by the end of the week, they are a group of friends who will stay in touch with each other for the rest of their careers. 16,000 doctors have been trained in more than 500 seminars and they have brought this new knowledge to their institutions and colleagues. We estimate that at least 75,000 physicians have benefitted.

It costs $3,000 to provide a fellowship (travel, room and board and educational materials) for a one-week seminar.

The Music for Medicine auction is an important instrument to raise funds and we hope you will join in the bidding!
