What are the Music Academy Experience ….sessions all
about?
All Music Academy students can access our Music Acade-
my Experience... sessions. These sessions are hosted in the
CMP by visiting professional musicians with a music special-
ism. The Music Academy takes time and care to curate a
more unusual programme of music for our students to ex-
perience. These sessions are designed to offer you some-
thing out of the ordinary! Recent Music Academy Experi-
ence… sessions have explored ‘Freedom in Music and Free
Jazz’ from London pianist Barry Green with New York musi-
cians Chris Cheek (sax) and Gerald Clever (drums), Cuban
grooves with Heads South and original compositions with
the Alison Rayner Quintet.
What you need to do?
Simply turn up to the next Music Academy Experience…
and try something new or less familiar to you. Immerse
yourself in a new sound, discipline, style, experience - this
could be as audience member or performer. Leave these
sessions buzzing with some new musical input, inspiration
and feeling happy to be part of such a BIG musical world!
