AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO
Conrad Grebel University College is home to the University of
Waterloo’s Department of Music and offers instruction in about 20
instruments as well as voice.
You’ll find a supportive environment for majoring in music or
you can pursue a variety of different program options that combine
music with other subjects. As a UWaterloo student, you are invited
to take a music course, sing in a choir, play in an instrumental
ensemble, or sign up for a studio lesson, no matter what program
you pursue.
Experience the many ways in which music is meaningful in today’s
world. Music is a flexible, Bachelor of Arts program that combines
core courses in theory, performance and history, with courses
addressing questions at the vital intersections between music and
other areas such as technology, film, global cultures, and
psychology.

Ensembles are open to all UWaterloo students. Participate in
four different vocal ensembles, instrumental chamber ensembles, the
jazz ensemble, the orchestra, and the Balinese gamelan.
