1. That on December 7, 2017 at about 1310 hours, a reported that upon entering the beach house located at 59-533 Ke Iki Road, he observed a

body tied up inside a pool of blood;2. That Officer A. EVELAND, hereinafter EVELAND, arrived on scene and

related a possible homicide involving a female, later identified as Telma

BOINVILLE.

3. That EVELAND also related that he located a juvenile female, hereinafter , tied and taped over her mouth in an upstairs room. That was later identified as the daughter of BOINVILLE;

4. That at about 1530 hours, related to her father, a Kevin EMERY, hereinafter EMERY, that the suspects in the case involved both a male and female. And that the male suspect had green hair in a bun;

5. That it was related that the male and female suspects left the scene in the victim's gold Toyota pickup truck. And it was later determined that the vehicle was a 2003 gold Toyota Tacoma bearing license plate KWN344, hereinafter KWN344;

6. That at about 1907 hours, EMERY related to EVELAND that identified the two suspects from a photograph, which he showed to her from a social media post;

7. That through an investigation it was determined that the male suspect in the

photograph was a Stephen BROWN, hereinafter BROWN, with a possible twenty thousand dollar outstanding warrant;

8. That an anonymous source related that KWN344 was parked unattended in the parking lot of Mililani Walmart, located at 95-550 Lanikuhana A venue;

9. That a juvenile female, hereinafter , stated that she observed the same male wearing the grey hoodie sweater and the female with the dirty blonde hair pull up in KWN344, "blasting" there music while parking next to her vehicle;

10. That at about 2019 hours, Officer C. CORREA, hereinafter CORREA, initially observes a male and female matching the same descriptions of the two suspects near the Mililani Starbucks, which is located north of KWN344;

11. That upon CORREA and your affiant approaching BROWN and the female suspect, BROWN attempted to flee on foot evading officers in the area;

12. That at about 2021 hours, BROWN and the female suspect, identified as Hailey Kai DANDURAND, hereinafter DANDURAND, were both located and detained;

13. That at about 2021 hours, DANDURAND verbally identified herself as Hailey Kai DANDURAND with a date of birth of April 3, 1997, and a social security number ;

14. That BROWN was somewhat combative and uncooperative, and only verbally identified himself as Stephen BROWN. That BROWN also matched the photograph that was provided by EMERY;

15. That while BROWN was being detained, he spontaneously uttered "just shoot me, I deserve this." in reference to the incident that occurred prior;

16. That while DANDURAND was being detained, she spontaneously uttered"Can you just pull your gun out and shoot me in the head, my life is over after today." in reference to the incident that occurred prior;

17. That at about 2024 hours, BROWN was escorted and transported away from scene due to the large aggressive crowd and for the safety of BROWN;

18. That BROWN and DANDURAND had noticeable stains which appeared to be dried blood on different areas of both of their clothing;

19. That a warrant check via E-Bench Warrants Judiciary Information Management System of BROWN confirmed an outstanding $20,000 probation revocation warrant and an outstanding $150 contempt warrant;

20. That at about 2046 hours, DANDURAND was positively identified during a field show up by as the same female who she observed sitting in the passenger seat of KWN344;

21. That at about 2102 hours, during the pre-incarceration search, a Hawaii bank card in the name of Telma BOINVILLE was recovered from DANDURAND'S front shirt pocket;

22. That on December 7, 2017, at about 2150 hours, Stephen BROWN was placed under arrest for the offenses of Murder in the second degree in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes 707-701.5 under 17-462026-001, an outstanding$20,000 probation revocation warrant in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes706-625 under 17-462026-003, and an outstanding $150 contempt warrant in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes 710-1077 under 17-462026-004;

23. That on December 7, 2017, at about 2150 hours, Hailey Kai DANDURAND was placed under arrest for the offenses of Murder in the second degree in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes 707-701.5 under 17-462026-001, and Unauthorized entry into motor vehicle in the second degree in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes 708-836.6 under 17-462026-002;

24. For further facts and circumstances, refer to Detective Donn MANZANO attachment 2.

25. This offense took place in the City and County of Honolulu, State of Hawaii.

1) On December 7, 2017, at about 3:45 p.m., I was assigned to investigate this murder in the second degree case.

2) On December 7, 2017, at 3:05 p.m., Honolulu Police Department District 2 Patrol units were sent on a suspicious circumstance type case at 59-533 Ke Iki Road in Haleiwa, Hawaii. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and observed the body of a lifeless female who was bound and lying in a pool of blood. Near the body was a bloodied hammer, knife, and mallet. The female was tentatively identified as Telma Bainville. Bainville was subsequently pronounced dead by Dr. Michael Dung at 3:58 p.m.

3) Officers also located a juvenile female restrained in a separate room. The juvenile female was later identified as , the daughter of Bainville.

4) Witnesses and informed officers that they were checking in to the house which they rented and arrived on December 7, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. A gold-colored pickup truck was parked in the driveway when they arrived. Upon entering the residence, noticed the bound lifeless female and heard movement in the house. and left the house and contacted 911.

5) and proceeded back to the residence once police arrived at which time they noticed that the gold-colored truck was missing.

6) On December 8, 2017, witness Kevin Emery provided a recorded statement. He stated that his wife, Bainville, works part-time cleaning rental units. She had been cleaning the 59-533 Ke Iki Road house and believed she had stopped there momentarily after picking their daughter from school to complete the job for the incoming renters. After learning of his wife's death, Emery proceeded to the scene and spoke with their daughter, She told him that she and Bainville arrived in their truck after school. waited in the truck while Bainville went into the house. A short time later a male with green hair and a female came out of the residence and took her into the house and restrained her. The male and female were covered in blood.

7) Emery conducted his own investigation and obtained a picture via social media of a male appearing to have green hair posing with a female. He showed the picture to and asked her if these were the people involved. She confirmed and then pushed the phone away from her after seeing the picture. A copy of that picture has been submitted under this report number.

8) Emery stated that he is the registered owner of a 2003 gold Toyota pickup truckwith Hawaii license plates KWM-344, which Bainville drives regularly. No one else had permission to operate or ride in the truck and he is willing to prosecute.

9) An abandoned black backpack was observed just inside the front door of the residence. Among items in the backpack was a Hawaii state identification card with the name of Stephen H. Brown, date of birth of July 22, 1994.

10) On December 7, 2017, Emery's truck was located parked at the Mililani Shopping Center, 95-1249 Meheula Parkway, in Mililani, Hawaii. In the nearvicinity, Stephen H. Brown and Hailey Dandurand were located and placed under arrest for a warrant and Unauthorized Entry into Motor Vehicle, respectively. Officers observed Brown and Dandurand to have reddish substances resembling blood on their persons at the time of arrests.

11) Additionally, the copy of the picture of the male and the female that circulated via social media matched that of Brown's and Dandurand' s physical appearanceincluding distinct facial features.

12) On Dec.ember 7, 2017, at 9:02 p.m., Officer Kent Larue and Officer FrancesBolibol conducted a pre-incarceration search of Hailey Dandurand at the Wahiawa Police Station. A Bank of Hawaii bank card in the name of TelmaBainville was recovered from Dandurand's front shirt pocket.

13) On December 7, 2017, at 9:50 p.m., Stephen H. Brown and Hailey Dandurandwere subsequently placed under arrest for Murder in the Second Degree.

14) These events occurred within the City and County of Honolulu, State of Hawaii.
