launched the Car Bin Scheme under

Swachh Bharat Mission on 19th Sep-

tember, 2016. Under this initiative, a

Car Bin bag is being provided to the

tourists on voluntary basis entering

HP at Excise Toll Barrier, Parwanoo

as well as in the town. This Car Bin

can be utilized for disposing of waste

generated by them during travelling.

This unique initiative will be helpful

in eliminating waste generated by

tourists entering the city..

Swachhta Oath by Hon’ble Chief Minister

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh,

Himachal Pradesh exhorted people to fulfill

Mahatma Gandhi's vision of Clean India. The

'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' is a massive mass

movement that seeks to create a Clean India.

Cleanliness was very close to Mahatma Gan-

dhi's heart. Now the time has come to devote

ourselves towards 'Swachchhata' (cleanliness)

of our motherland.

HERITAGE WALK UNDER SBM

Municipal Corporation Shimla organized a Heri-

tage walk on 02-10-2016 for creating awareness

among the tourists visiting the city to keep the

city clean. The occasion was graced by the pres-

ence of Hon‟ble Mayor of MC Shimla and The

Commissioner, MC Shimla. Hon‟ble Mayor

flagged off the “walk” from Oak Over. Head of

the Departments of various departments of MC

Shimla, other officers and sanitation workers of

MC Shimla too participated in the event. The

walk terminated at Ridge Ground having more

than 250 participants including Students of dif-

ferent Schools. Hon‟ble Mayor & Commis-

sioner MC Shimla also appealed to the general

public of Shimla city not to litter the city and be

a part of every efforts being made by Municipal

Corporation Shimla to make the city clean and

beautiful so that it retains its Historical, Ecologi-

cal as well as Aesthetic value

e-Toilet Launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister,

Himachal Pradesh on 23-06-2016 at Chhota

Shimla. The Citizens can use the toilets by use

of the coin. This innovative scheme is a new

pinnacle in sanitation facility to the citizens.

Launched on 16th June 2016. With the active

contribution of all officers, 250 dresses for

newly born babies of poor needy people do-

nated.

Total No. of dressed distributed—150.

Now the dress are being provided by various

NGOs/ Individuals.

Honey Sucker Machine To tackle this problem, for the first time in

Himachal Pradesh, Municipal Corporation

has introduced the “Suction Machine”, also

known as “HONEY SUCKER”, under the

Septage Management Program. The Honey

Sucker, having a capacity of 1500 ltrs tank

mounted on pick up van can be used for

clearing of septic tank from the vertical

height of 21ft.

This Honey Sucker can be demanded by anyone on

any day for the cleaning of the septic tanks by giv-

ing a call on toll free number of MC Helpline - 1916
