If you would still like to obtain a paper copy, they will be available from the office foyer. A particularly warm welcome to all our new parents and families. It is lovely to have you as part of our school community. We know that your child will make lots of friends, have lots of great experiences and learn a great deal while at Mulyan Public. Thank you to all the parents who have come up to school for the parent information meetings. Hopefully you have found these meetings informative and valuable. A lot of information regarding excursions, expectations for homework, bookwork, organisation etc have all been discussed. If you any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s teacher here at school. The last Parent Information night is on tonight for Kindergarten parents commencing at 6pm in the Kindergarten rooms. Last Friday we had a our School Leader Induction Ceremony. It was attended by many parents, relations and friends of students who were inducted into a leadership position. As well as our School Captains, Vice- Captains and Prefects badges we also presented badges to SRC Representatives, House Captains and Vice-Captains, Class Captains, Library and Computer Monitors. Congratulations to all these children who were given leadership responsibilities. I know that you will all do an outstanding job and represent your classmates and school with great pride. Further details are included later on in this newsletter. Congratulations to Mrs Johnson who once again organised an excellent carnival. Each year we ask parents to make a contribution to their child’s education. These contributions are used to purchase material for the classroom and school. This can include ; exercise books, pencils, rulers, art paper, tennis balls, sports equipment etc. If possible, it would assist us greatly if these contributions could be paid as soon as possible. However, they can be paid by the school term or in two half yearly payments. The cost of contributions for 2015 are: # single child - $48 # a family - $52 If you are having difficulties meeting this commitment please contact me at school. Envelopes will be sent home in the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all the children and parents who have ensured that the correct school uniform is being worn. The children look fantastic and the feeling of pride and belonging that the wearing of the school uniform brings can not be measured. Please also ensure that your child is wearing the correct school hat during these warmer months. The school does have a “no hat no play” policy and any child not wearing the school hat will need to remain in the shaded areas. Late last year it was decided to alter the school hat and the new version can be purchased at Mr Embroidery. During the phase in period the old style school hat is perfectly fine to wear.
