HI 9828 is supplied complete with a probemaintenance kit.

This kit includes HI 7042S (electrolyte solution for DOsensor), (5) O-rings for DO sensor, a small brush, (5) O-rings for multiparameter probe and a syringe with grease to lubricate the O-rings.

Fast Tracker™ Tag Identification SystemHANNA’s iButton® Tag Identification System simplifies testlogging. iButton®s with a unique ID can be installed at varioussampling sites. When the matching connector of the metercontacts the button and measurements are logged, they arelabeled with the alphanumeric user-entered location ID.Location, date, time and measurements are logged into themeter which can be transferred to a PC.

Sensor replacement is quick and easy with screw type connectors and color

coded sensors.

The galvanic DO sensor does not require polarization time so it’s ready at a moment’s notice.

The 4-ring conductivity system ensures stable conductivity readings that are immune to

surface coating. Absolute conductivity, temperature corrected conductivity, salinity, specific gravity

and TDS determinations are possible with measurements from this sensor.

The HI 9828 automatically recognizes the presence of either the pH or pH/ORP sensor.

Both sensors have a cloth junction which allows greater sensitivity, and are gel filled for improvedresistance to contamination.

The meter also displays pH in mV readings—ideal for trouble shooting.

HANNA’s HI 769828 multiparameter probe incorporates a built-in microprocessor andamplifiers that convert the high impedance signals from the sensors of the probe eliminatingcommon problems associated with high impedance signals such as limitation of cable lengthand noise. This allows the probe to have a reliable communication with the meter and alsoimmediately warns the user of problems such as a broken cable. The standard cable lengthsof the probe are 4, 10 and 20 meters (13, 32 and 64 feet) and custom lengths are also available.

The probe also features HANNA’s Quick Calibration which allows the user to calibrate pH andconductivity with one solution in a single, simple step. Dissolved Oxygen is also calibratedin one step in saturated air. The probe houses 5 of the 6 measured parameters: pH, ORP, EC,dissolved oxygen and temperature. The sensors are all independently replaceable and are easyto maintain and keep clean. The sensors are protected by an outer PVC/stainless steel sleeveand cap which is suitable for use in 2” wells. The probe housing is rated IP68 standard.

Designed for GrowerspH electrodes are commonly designed toproduce an output signal equal to 0 mVwhen immersed in a solution with pH 7.But a constant output value at pH 7occurs as a result of certain adverseevents, such as:

• A broken bulb in the pH electrode• A short circuit in the cable or

connector• Magnetic force leakage in the cable or

connector (for example, in case of excessive humidity)

In these situations, the instrumentdisplays a false reading at pH 7 and theuser may not be aware that correctivemeasures are necessary; particularly if theuser is anticipating a neutral pH reading.To avoid this problem, HANNA developedF.S.T. technology.

With this special security system, asystem failure will force a fixed valueclose to pH 4, rather than pH 7, andrender the problem clearer to the user.

For extra confidence in your measurements,the meter is equipped with two LEDs anda "CHECK" button. While pressing thisbutton, upon immersing the electrode inthe CAL CHECK™ solution HI 50021P, oneof the LEDs will light up to indicate thestatus of the meter. 6 in 1 Bench Meter!The HANNA HI 255 is a logging, microprocessor-based pH, ORP,Conductivity (EC), TDS, NaCl and temperature bench meter. Arelative mV feature is also provided.

pH measurements are compensated for temperature effectmanually or automatically with the HI 7662 temperature probe.

pH Calibration is possible with up to three points, using fivememorized buffers (4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18 and 10.01).

The autoranging feature of the EC and TDS functionsautomatically sets the instrument to the scale with the highestpossible resolution.

Conductivity measurements are compensated, manually orautomatically, with the temperature sensor inside theconductivity probe. It is also possible to disable the temperaturecompensation and measure the actual conductivity.

The temperature coefficient is user selectable and the GLP featureprovides a guarantee of data consistency.

An alarm time-out is available to alert the user that too muchtime has elapsed since last pH calibration.

The instrument can store data for later retrieval, at the user’srequest.

Quick ResultsThis meter was designed to satisfy the requests of manyproduction and quality control laboratories that need quickmultiple parameter measurement results with a single precisioninstrument.

No InterferenceThe pH and conductivity circuits have been electrically separated,so that it is not necessary for the two probes to be simultaneouslyimmersed in the same solution. The conductivity probe will notinterfere with your pH measurements and the response of the pHelectrode is immediately stable.

With a built-in logging function, measurements are stored in non-volatile memory, and can be transferred to a PC through theRS232 serial port. In addition to these features, HI 255 containsGLP features that store the calibration and measurement data ofany sample, to be displayed upon request.

HANNA’s new HI 9828 is a multiparameter portableinstrument that monitors up to 13 different waterquality parameters (6 measured, 7 calculated). Themeter has a 128 x 64 pixel dot matrix backlit LCD thatautomatically sizes the digits and allows fullconfiguration of each parameter measured, units andlanguage selection, and on-screen graphing. Eachparameter is fully supported by the on-screen contextsensitive help, both in the calibration mode andduring measurement.
