Antakalnis SUMPlaning goalsThe main goal was of course to decrease car traffic (especially transit), but more over with this initiative:
• To ensure overall connectivity among sustainable transport modes• To ensure that MPs contribute to this by:
- having good accessibility to the MPs;- having good exit out off the MPs (on foot, by bicycle, PT, shared modes).
Main target groups:- first\last mile travellers (residents);- transit travellers;- target points (schools, hospital) visitors.
- Next to good PT
- Serves as a first\last mile solution
- Can act as additional service (Bike&Go) to existing target objects (e.g. hospital)
- Liveable place – secure place

“A MP is a physical place which enables the interchange between at least two sustainable Expected Resutls. The intention is to create sustainable mobility options that are convenient and easy for citizens to use, thus providing the possibility to be mobile without owning a car. Add on features benefiting from a hub-concept such as parcel & post distribution, shared economy functions and equipment, material recycling etc. are highly encouraged”

Implementation: - One car parking spot will be replaced with cargo bike parking and a tree. - Extension of the pavement to 6.8 meters (length).- Construction of ten safe cargo bike racks to supplement nearby city bikes and e-scooters. - Distance to nearest car sharing cars 75 meters. Distance to the bus network 130 meters

Overarching objectives - Increasing acceptance of multimodal transport and travel behaviour by applying pilot solutions- Bringing about a change in awareness and mobility patterns of transport users by promoting sustainable mobility behaviour
Strategic objectives- Promoting and facilitating multimodal transport in pilot areas by creating transferable and prominent showcases and capacity building.”
Measure specific objectives - At least 50% of the surveyed households are aware of the mobility points- At least 75 % occupancy rate of the mobility points before 7am and after 5pm.- At least one of the surveyed households decides to live without a car based on the new options at the mobility points.- At least three more mobility points will be implemented in the city based on the experiences from the pilot.

• First: residents in the pilot area who at current time find it difficult to find parking for a cargo bike in the area.
• Second: people visiting the city centre. They can park their cargo bike here and walk or e-scoot the last mile to their destination.
