Fault isolation and Restoration

Fault ProtectionThe Multilin DGCR provides protectionfunctionalityfordownstreamOverCurrentand Earth Faults. Cold load pickup
The Multilin DGCR can be programmedto block the instantaneous over-currentelements, and raise the pickup level ofthe time over-current elements, when acold load condition is detected. The coldload condition is detectedduring closingof thebreakerona feeder thathasbeende-energized for a long time. The feederinrushcurrentandthemotoracceleratingcurrent during breaker closing maybeabove some over-current protectionsettings.

Auto Recloser
The Auto Recloser element providesa mechanism to localize a fault bycoordinating this function with thereclosingoperationsofthefeederbreakerwithinatimingschedule.The logic implemented in this elementprovidesawaytodetectseveralreclosing
actions from the main circuit breakerandaccordinglyopenthe localswitch, inperiodswhenthevoltageisabsent.The logic uses the information of theovercurrent condition followed by a lossof voltage, loss of current , power flowdirectionandvoltagedetectionfunctionstoexecutethetransitionintointernalstates.
