Fundamentals of Oriental Medicine Emperors College Douglas Eisenstark L.Ac. [email protected] winter 2010 These are an ever evolving set of notes for the 10 weeks Fundamentals Class at Emperors College. They draw upon my own class with Chris Ting L.Ac at SAMRA University many years ago as well as notes created by previous Emperors teachers: Irene Heller, Yvonne Farrell, Cyndee Overland and Simon Shapiro. There is nothing new about Chinese Medicine, only ways to think and teach it. These notes come from books such as CAM, Maciocia, Scheid/Bensky Formulas and Strategies and the several basics books from Chinese translations. I will do my best to credit and footnote sources yet there cannot help but be omissions. In addition I have benefitted greatly by the on-line discussion groups including the Chinese Herbal Academy and I thank all in these venues and to my students and colleagues to whom I have turned for answers. All mistakes are my own. Fundamentals of Oriental Medicine Eisenstark ECTOM fall 2009 Eisenstark 1

INTRODUCTIONDK-9610 Super is a self-contained, three output digital access keypad designed for door strike and other accesscontrol applications in office and home security installations.

The DK-9610 Super consists two sets of application software for owner's selection. They are Single User Code andMulti-User Codes for each output. The single user code gives 10,000 combinations and the multi-users code givesover 100 million combinations. All the saved data in the system are nonvolatile in case of power failure.

The DK-9610 Super is weatherproof, which is suitable for both out-door and in-door installations. The DK-9610Super is available with version A, B and C. They have identical specifications except the outputs.

Tamper switch Normally Close contact. It is openwhen the keypad is separated from the mounting box.

The ( ) grounding point of the keypad.

This terminal is prepared for connecting a NormallyClosed optional door sensing switch (e.g. MC 01 orMC-02 Magnetic Contact) to the door which iscontrolled by output 1, for initiating the auto re-lockfunction.With the help of the door sensing switch, the keypadreleases the door latch immediately to re lock the doorautomatically after the door is re-closed even the preset operation time is not expired in momentary mode;or you do not require to enter Code 1 again to re-lockthe door when the keypad is in Start / Stop mode.In normal operation without the door sensing switch,an opened door is re-locked after timeout inmomentary mode; or by entering Code 1 again in Start/ Stop mode.

If the door sensing switch is not used, connectthe terminal to Ground ( ).

NPN transistor open collector output, switches of the( ) supply when the Duress Code is entered. Use thisoutput to trigger remote alarm, dialer, indicator etc., incase of duress. Transistor rating -- Ic max: 150mA,Vce max: 12V DC

A Normally Open (N.O.) input terminal refers to ( )ground with the help of a normally open button (e.g.PB 01 Egress Button) to activate the Relay Output 1.Egress button is usually put inside the house near thedoor. Leave this terminal open if it is not used.

Two de-energized LED lamps are available for freeconnections, to indicate alarm or door operationstatus. They are built-in with 1.5K Ohm current limitingresistors.

The Default Values

* Keypad exits programming mode and returns to normal operation

The keypad consists two sets of software for owner's selection in user code programming. One is "Single UserCode for Each Output" and the other is "Multi-User Codes for Each Output".

The keypad has been set with a Master Code of "0000" and Multi User Mode with the following "Default Values" atthe factory. You do not require to make any operation mode change if your selection is Multi-User Mode. However,You have to refresh the system to

Single User Mode if it is your selection.

Output 2 is 1 Second Momentary Mode601 --- Output 3 is 1 Second Momentary Mode70 ----- After 10 Successive False Code, The Keypad Locks During 30 Seconds

The mode of allow only User Code for each output, and it is fixed to 4 digits. This mode isprepared for those people DO NOT like to press the key for code entry to activate the output. They only pressthe 4 digit User Code, then, the specific output is activated. Each output has its own code.

The Multi-User Codes

Code Entry Limitation for Multi-User Codes

The mode of is prepared for setting up a group of user codes for each output. The User Codes can be4 to 8 digits. To activate the desired output, the user has to press the key to confirm of code entry in theoperation of the Multi-User Code. The following are the number of User Codes available in each group:

User Codes in Group 1 for Output 1 --- 100 UsersUser Codes in Group 2 for Output 2 --- 10 UsersUser Codes in Group 3 for Output 3 --- 10 Users

As the system comes with function and the DURESS CODE is setting up by the system automatically withthe first digit of the User Code "+2". To prevent the other User Codes fall into the Duress Code, or the DuressCodes fall into other User Codes, the first digit of a " " User code "+2" or "-2" is not allowed for the laterUser Code entry in programming. The system will refuse those code entries.

An User Code 56789 is saved in the system, then 36789 and 76789 are not allowed for other UserCodes.

You are required to decide the keypad for Single User or Multi-User Mode in operation. The system can be set forwith the command code " " and stay in that mode until the system is refreshed for other

mode.

Make sure all the and are set to after the system is refreshed for SingleUser Mode operation. Otherwise, code entry will not be successful. It is necessary to change the Master Code to 4 digits first (if it was more than 4 digits in Multi Users Mode)before refreshing from Multi User Mode to Single User Mode. The system takes approximate 2 to 3 seconds to refresh itself for new operation mode after the refresh code isentered. DO NOT enter any code during the system is being refreshed until the 2 confirmation beeps are heard.

* Please consult your alarm control panel manual for the selection of N.C. or N.O. for system ON-OFF control. Forthose Open Collector Outputs at the DK-9610B/C, please consider them as N.O. contacts referring to ground.

A dry contact means that no electricity was connected to it. It is prepared for free connections. Usually the relayoutput contacts provided in a keypad system are dry contacts.

Normally Closed, the contact is closed circuit at normal status. It is open circuit when activated.

Normally Open, the contact is open circuit at normal status. It is closed circuit when activated.

An open collector output is equivalent to a Normally Open (N.O.) contact referring to ground similar to a relaycontact referring to ground. The transistor is normally OFF, and its output switches to ground (-) when activates. The open collector can only provide switching function for small power but it is usually good enough forcontrolling of an alarm system.Output 2 & 3 in DK-9610C, output 3 in DK-9610B, and the Duress Output in all three keypads are opencollector outputs.
