Level 80 Term LifeThe death of a family member canbe devastating and the situation canbe much worse if that death leavesthe family financially unstable. Howwould your family hold up if youand your income were suddenlyand unexpectedly gone?

Level 80 Term Life is ideal for see-ing your family’s goals through inthe event of your premature death.The proceeds from this protectioncan be used to cover the costs ofmortgage retirement, universityfund completion, and income foryour spouse and children.

Our Term Life plan can also helpto organize your business affairs.Partnership agreements can befunded for a fraction of the value inthe event of the death of a partner.In addition, business loans may besecured by assigning your coverageto your lenders.

Permanent LifeNot all of the reasons that youshould have life insurance end atage 80. Insurance can be a valuabletool when planning your estate.Whether your goal is to protect yourestate from income tax erosion,leave a legacy for your heirs, ormake a charitable bequest, CBIAPermanent Life will continue toprovide benefits regardless of whendeath occurs.

Permanent Life offers a guaranteedamount of life insurance protectionfor life. Premiums are guaranteednever to increase and are payablefor 20 years or to age 65, whicheveris longer. This coverage also has aguaranteed cash surrender valueupon the end of the premiumpaying period.

Disability Income InsuranceDid you know that more Canadianfamilies lose their home because anincome earner becomes disabledthan lose their home because thatsame person dies? Did you alsoknow that the odds of suffering adisability rather than dying beforeretirement are 3 to 1? If you wereunable to work, due to illness orinjury, where would the money topay your bills come from? Considerthe devastating impact that losingyour long-term ability to earn anincome will have on you and yourfamily.

With disability income protectionyou can take comfort in the securityof knowing that you will continue toreceive an income if, due to illnessor injury, you are unable to work. Inthe event of certain losses, such asyour eyesight or hearing, you mayalso receive benefits even if the lossdoesn’t render you unable to work.

Critical Illness RiderMore and more often people aresurviving serious illnesses such asa heart attack, stroke, or cancer. Many peoplefind that their priorities changeafter surviving an illness; they wantto work less and spend more timewith their loved ones. CriticalIllness insurance was designedto help you meet those needs.

The CBIA Critical Illness rider isavailable only as an additionalbenefit to your CBIA Level 80 TermLife plan. Critical Illness insuranceprovides you with a lump sumpayment in the event you arediagnosed with and survive any oneof a list of specified illnesses. Thisbenefit can help to offset the costof surviving and treating your ill-ness or you can use it to enhanceyour lifestyle during and after yourillness. The choice on how to spendthe proceeds is yours.

Accident InsuranceAn accident, by definition, is unex-pected and it can bring addedexpenses over and above yourincome loss or what your privatemedical insurance may cover. Doesyour family have the resources topay for these additional expensesand maintain their lifestyle duringthis difficult time?

This economical plan pays a benefitfor death; loss of sight, hearing orspeech; loss of, or loss of use of, alimb or hand; loss of a foot; andcertain types of paralysis, whenthese events are the result of anaccident.

Travel Medical Insurance PlanIf you are planning on travelingoutside of your home province forbusiness or pleasure, you shouldbe aware that Provincial HealthCare plans provide limited protec-tion. Individual Extended Health CareBeing self-employed or a member ofa small firm does not mean that youhave to sacrifice the peace of mindnormally associated with grouphealth benefits. Individual HealthCare coverage can provide youand/or your family with protectionagainst devastating medical events,as well as help you with day-to-daycosts not covered by your ProvincialHealth Care plan.

This plan can help you with thecosts of prescription drugs, hospitalservices and even dental care.

Retiree Health and Dental PlanThe Retiree Health and Dental planallows CBA members and law firmemployees to continue their healthand dental protection on an individ-ual basis when they lose their grouphealth coverage due to retirement orage restrictions. This plan allowsthe retiree to continue to have abroad range of health and dentalbenefits, although the benefitsunder this plan may be differentfrom the benefits under your groupplan.

There are no medical requirementsto qualify for this plan providedyour application is received within60 days of the date on which youlose your existing benefits.

Bar Group PlanThe CBIA Bar Group Insurance planis designed specifically for theunique needs of small law firmswith benefits typically only avail-able to larger employers. This plancan provide your firm with a selec-tion of Life, Accidental Death, Long-Term Disability, Extended Health,Dental and Vision care benefits.

Available to groups of three to ninepeople, the CBIA Bar Group plancan help small firms control theircosts and help attract and retainquality employees. Couple a BarGroup Insurance plan with a CBAFinancial group RRSP to show youremployees just how much youappreciate them.
