AUGUST 2015 Page 1 of 2 MSU CLUBS New Logo Welcome As the MSU continues its organization-wide change of branding, we are very excited to unveil our new Clubs logo. e presence of the five elements, which appear as people, represent both the students within the department, as well as the sense of community that can be found between clubs and students. e five different colors are symbolic of the five pillars of the department: Academic, Cultural, Recreational, Religious & Social Issues. MSU Dollars & New Funding Model Hey all, my name is Ehima Osazuwa and I am the President of the McMaster Students Union. I first got involved with the MSU through the Clubs system, and that is why I have always been passionate about clubs. Clubs play an important role in building a sense of community at McMaster. When I was the President of the McMaster African Student Association, I was able to experience that sense of community and saw first-hand how clubs enrich the student experience here at Mac. I am excited for the year ahead and to see the great things clubs can achieve this year. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Clubs will submit their reimbursement receipts to the Clubs Administrator at the end of each semester to ensure club executives are reimbursed quicker. Email Upgrades Club email addresses have been upgraded to Google Accounts to improve your communication experience. Upgraded email IDs and passwords are rolling out to you in the next few weeks. All IDs and passwords will be sent out by August 28, 2015. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve your experience and give you the best tools to communicate with your members. @ Two Assistants More support has arrived! We are happy to announce an additional Assistant Clubs Administrator to our team this year. We are staying true to our commitment to provide clubs with all the support they require, and to ensure that someone is always available to answer questions. A warm welcome to our new Assistant Clubs Administrators, Rabeena Obaidullah and Tanveet Gill. ey will be starting their roles in a few weeks and they are excited to work with all of you. Newsletter

New Projector & Button Maker �e department has invested in a brand new projector, including a projector screen, to provide you with the best equipment to run your programming. In addition, a new button maker will be available to all clubs to help keep button costs low. Pricing for button supplies and other details to follow at clubs training in September.

GreetingsHello everyone, my name is Joshua Patel and I'm the MSU Clubs Administrator for the 2015/2016 year.

I'm very excited to work with all of you this year and to help you all succeed with your plans. In my few months on the job, I've already seen some of our clubs pull o� some great events on and o� campus, and I can't wait to see all our clubs active when the school year begins. Clubs play a very important role in enhancing student life and I couldn't be happier to assist all our clubs in making their plans a reality.

Over the summer, we've been working very diligently on some very cool projects that are going to improve the department even further and I'm sure you'll be very excited to hear about them in the following weeks.Feel free to drop by my o�ce at any time if you have any questions or if you ever need to chat, I'm here to help! I look forward to seeing all of you in September.

ClubsFest ClubsFest will be taking place on Wednesday, September 9. ClubsFest is now o�cially sold out and we can't wait to see you all at one of September's most anticipated events! Clubs will be receiving their table locations and other relevant information by September 1. Check out the ClubsFest teaser at www.msumcmaster.ca/clubsfest

Clubs Training

According to our policies, Clubs are only rati�ed pending mandatory clubs training in September. �is year we will be hosting training sessions on September 14th (morning); September 15th (evening); September 18th (afternoon). ALL Presidents plus one (1) additional Executive Member must attend Club Training and the club must successfully pass the Club Training Test that follows. Additional details, including times and locations, will be released by September 1.

Offices and Lockers

Applications for an o�ce space in Clubspace will be released the week of August 24th. Successful applicants will be chosen by lottery for an o�ce space. Lockers applications will open on our website on September 1st at noon. Clubs will have until September 11th to �ll out the application and successful applicants will then be contacted with more information.
