    of shoppers who support our parish school through theirpurchases during the OMMS Christmas in July fund-raiser. As the boutique chairwoman for the 5th year, Ican tell you that the school is very grateful to the gener-ous ladies who have donated jewelry in pastyears. Once again, we are collecting AND WE DO NEEDYOUR HELP. If you have jewelry that you never wear,please consider donating it to help the school raisefunds. We accept costume jewelry of any era, gold orsilver jewelry, broken chains and watches, and old rosa-ries. Without your generosity ladies, there would be no

    Help Wanted for Mission Retreat Center:Hosts for Private Retreats

    Our genuine Franciscan hospitality is at the heart of ourPrivate Retreat ministry and we need help from married cou-ples who are able to volunteer to host our guests while theyare here. Hosting means staying at the center in a privateroom, having meals here, and in general making sure theretreatant has someone to go to in case of any need some-one has.

    A Private Retreat is generally silent or with little talk-ing. The retreatant come to take time to pray, reflect andrenew their weary souls. Hosting them is truly an act ofFranciscan love and compassion.

    NUESTRO MINISTERIO EN LA IGLESIA

    Es un punto aparentemente insignificante, pero importante atener en cuenta al reflexionar sobre el ministerio duranteestos das previos a la venida del Espritu Santo: percatarse deque el lugar de Judas entre los apstoles fue llenado a causade su traicin, no de su muerte. l haba sido, segn las pala-bras de Pedro: llamado a desempear con nosotros esteministerio. Entonces es la traicin de la misin y no simple-mente la muerte lo que deja un vaco en la estructura de lamisin de la Iglesia. Nos olvidamos de que en la mente de losotros apstoles, Judas habra sido contado entre los doce queestuvieron presentes cuando Jess rez la plegaria que escu-chamos hoy: que al ser enviados al mundo fueran santificadosen la verdad. Es difcil para nosotros comprender que Jess searrodillara para lavarle los pies a Judas.
