To whosoever it may concern.

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for IVIanish Shrivastava. He has been MSc student for

master of science in Offshore and Dredging Engineering from September 2013 to October 2015.

He did his final graduation under my supervision. Objective of his graduation thesis was to understand the

vertical heave forces on a flat bottom body oscillating close to seabed. He had analyzed problem using CFD

software COMFLOW and he had good results.

During course of his study, Manish has shown remarkable consistency in his efforts while dealing with

difficult parts, willingness to learn and modesty to accept shortcomings and improve on it.

To whom it may concern    It is my pleasure to support the application of Manish Shrivastava, MSc at Delft University of Technology, to a PhD programme and to write a recommendation letter for him.  I met Manish when he started attending the course Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, at the beginning of his Master track in Offshore and Dredging Engineering. Manish was pro‐active, eager to learn, and continuously discussing sensible topics of the discipline. In spite of the course being rather theoretical, therefore hard to tackle for a young man coming from a previous experience in the industry, he demonstrated his skills and willingness to deeply get into both the theoretical and the applicative aspects of the discipline. He was one of the best students of his calls, in the top 5%.  Besides this, he is a very nice, friendly and cooperative person, willing to grow further and definitely passionate and dedicated to work  I wish him all the best in his future career, and I am sure he will prove to be a resource in any academic group with a strong interest in applied research.
