The need for Agile IT and Network Management
Virtualization and Cloud computing continues to fundamentally alter the way enterprises and SPs procure, deploy and manage IT resources.
The legacy, cumbersome, static, expertise intensive EMS, OSS, NMS… systems are not a fit for this new virtualized environment.
Typically an SP back office (NOC) costs and processes are burdened by static manually intensive legacy tools unfit for dynamic service and device configuration management
• Fulfillment Software suites are often dedicated to a given vendor or technology resulting in a siloed architecture
• Vendor specific CLI expertise is often required raising the cost of service provisioning and limiting adoption of new devices and technologies
These limitations drive up service production cost and are a roadblock to new service delivery and business development.
The above challenges will be compounded by the development of SDN and NFV across the network.
The industry requires a new approach to management software design that addresses the current challenges while remaining flexible and adaptable to new technology paradigms.
