Writing – “Compare and Contrast Playing Video Games and Playing Outside” Think about how they are the same and how they are different. Create a Venn diagram to help you.

Things you can compare:

• Who you play with

• Games/activities you play

• How it looks, feels, smells outside and inside

• Which one do you like more and why?

• Do you have a favorite player? Why? Save your Venn diagram because we will use it to continue our writing tomorrow.

Enrichment Activities: If you have completed all your assignments and would like some Enrichment activities you can have your child work on the following links. Please log in with your Quick Card or login information that was sent in Class Dojo. Education Galaxy: click on Education Galaxy > click on Reading or Math > click on Study Plan and choose a topic MyOn: Choose various books to read. If your student has not completed the PreTest then that will need to be completed first. Then you will have to select the types of books that he/she is interested in. (Put a smiley face by each topic, it gives access to a wider selection of books.) After you have selected the types of books that you would like to read you should be able to select a book to read. If you are unable to see a lot of titles, click on the blue tab that says See More. Accelerated Reader (AR): Good News! You can now test on the books you have read at home. Remember that AR is located in Renaissance, the R. If you have been reading your books or enjoying read alouds online you can now take an AR test at home! Now remember you MUST still read your books. And yes you have to read your book 3 times before you test. Don’t forget the 5Ws and 1H to make sure that you are ready to test. Who are the characters? Where did the story take place? When did the story take place? What happened? What is the problem?

Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2020 (Week 3 Day 2) Good morning! It’s a Terrific Tuesday and I hope that everyone survived yesterday. I know it was a little different since you all had to go on a small scavenger hunt for the week’s assignments but I’m sure today will be more of a breeze. I see students working really hard as I am getting the photos of the assignments. So, keep it up! Let’s take it one day at a time. **If you can’t print the activities please feel free to record your answers on a sheet of paper.** Lastly, remember that I am taking attendance EVERY day so it is important that after your child has completed the day’s activities to upload them to their portfolio so that I can mark your child present and give the Attendance Dojo point. Today’s assignments:

Writing – “Compare and Contrast Playing Video Games and Playing Outside” We’re going to continue with our story. Make sure to hold on to this draft – we will come back to it tomorrow.
