MRPL’s programmeon 2nd October
Inauguration of Swachh Bharat Mission at the MRPL Employees Club at 9. 20 am. Pledge administering at 9.45 am. All locations of MRPL took the pledge at 9.45am before the “shapath backdrop”.
Ex Olympian Vandana Shanbag& State Gold medalist athlete Varadaraj flagged off the walkathon
Ground breaking ceremony at the Govt High School Soorinje. Letter of Intent given to 9 more GovtSchools.
All Toilets/ Washroom at Ros/ offices cleaned and daily inspection rostered.
Housekeeping stepped up from 2nd Oct 2014.

Bio-waste segregation and waste management at Township stepped up.
Talk on cleanliness and hygiene followed by Treasure hunt for visually challenged and physically challenged organised in association with Mangalore Motor Sports Club, at Mangalore.
Every participant given “passport to swachh bharat” planner and a branded T shirt bearing the logo.
Swach Bharat Shramdaan Volunteers Group formed at MRPL. Unique e-mail id for the group [email protected] for better co-ordination and communication

Cleanliness Relay : Weekly Department-wise Shramdaan efforts.

The Shramdaan is motivating people around MRPL to follow suit.

One Toilet block at Govt High School Soorinje completed.
Construction work on Toilet Blocks commenced at 9 schools.
Toilet/ Washroom inspection and surprise checks at all times of day has become practice.
File stacking and orderly maintenance of files made mandatory. No more paper stacked corridors.

Influence and enthuse Opinion leaders, artistes and NGOs. Support, participate in their activities.

Opinion leaders contacted and media encouraged to write against littering. The littering post Navaratri procession was highlighted tobuild shame quotient and start an attitudinal change.
Roshni Nilaya School of Social work roped in to carry out an attitude change intervention - baselines survey to education to impact study : Project Swachha Varthane (attitude of cleanliness in kannada)> The first year the are mapped will be in the 2 km radius . The MoU will be renewed for another 5 years to increase the outreach and impact.
The scope of work is ready and MoU will be signed by Feb 2015.

Toilet Blocks for rest 41 schools will be completed by 31st March 2014. Slight setback due to delay in uploading school list on the MHRD website.
Radio campaign to coincide with second phase of Project SwacchaVarthane programme . ( radio is an excellent medium to drum up support in short bursts)
Swachh Bharat logo will be incorporated in every advt that is released from 1st January 2015
Swachha Varthane TV campaign - a funded programme that will actually go and inspect schools, houses and offices. They will air the show. During the third phase Project varthane. (This will increase the impact sought for in bringing attitude change).
Tie –up with Moghaveera Sabha & Beach Tourism for clean beach campaign.
Banners and displays at Airports, key points and parks.
Adopt a monument as per MHRD’s list : Mahastupa site, Kanakahalli, Gulbarga Dist, Karnataka.
