EligibilityEvery affiliated District Chess Association/Special Unit of TNSCA is entitled to field four entries.Top four players from 65th Tamil Nadu State Open Chess Championship 2017 is seeded.The top two rankers from TN State U-25 Open Chess Championship 2017 are seeded.The Champion of TN State Junior (U-19) Open Chess Championship 2017 is seeded.In addition to above the following Districts can field additional entries by virtue of three medal winners (gold, silver and bronze) secured by their players in the last 65th TN State Open Chess Championship 2017 held at Erode. Chennai (gold) – 3, Kishnagiri (Silver) – 2 and Cuddalore (Bronze) – 1 . All these nominations from the District Associations shall be given only from the Rank list of their respective District championships with proof and not to anybody else.The host Dharmapuri District Chess Association is entitled to field two additional entries.Any player who remits the prescribed special entry fee of Rs.1500/-. All the entries should come through the Respective District/Affiliated units.The TNSCA General Secretary can nominate one entry.Any current National Champion in any category is to be seeded to All State ChampionshipsAny current National No.2 and 3 are to be seeded to the same category State ChampionshipAny current World Champion in any category is to be seeded to All State Championships.Any current World No.2 and 3 are to be seeded to the same category and one step higher State championshipsAny Current Asian Champion is to be seeded to the same category and one step higher state championship.Any Current Asian No.2 and 3 are to be seeded to the same categoryAny current State Champion is to be seeded to all lower categories State Championships subject to the restriction regarding age.All GMs, IMs WGMs and WIMs are seeded for Tamil Nadu State Open Chess Championship.Only Indian National is eligible to participate.
Tie-breakDirect encounter, Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn Berger and number of wins (forfeit included) tie-break rules will be applied. In case of tie, prizes will not be shared. Chess ClocksEach Association is requested to provide at least two chess clocks for every four players.Appeals CommitteeAn Appeals Committee comprising of Five members plus two reserves will be formed at the managers meeting. All the members and reserves shall be from different districts. No member of committee can vote on dispute in which a player from his own district/states is involved and in such case(s), the reserve member takes his place. The decision of the appeals committee is final and binding on all players concerned.Tournament CommitteeThe tournament committee consisting of the General Secretary, T N S C A or his representat ive, and representative from another district to be nominated by the TNSCA shall decide on all emergency matters.

EligibilityAge proof is required. Certificate should be from the Panchayat/Municipality or corporation obtained soon after birth. Players without the date of birth certificate will not be allowed to participate. As per the rules of AICF, only players whose dates of birth are registered within one year of their birth are permitted to take part in respective age group state/nationals. Other country passport holders shall not be allowed to participate in the State Chess Championship. Only Tamil Nadu Players can participate in this championshipBoarding & LodgingUnfurnished dormitory type of lodging will be provided to seeded/selected players and one manager per team at S c h o o l c a m p u s . ( N o m i n a t e d b y t h e d i s t r i c t association).Players are requested to bring their own beddings. Canteen facilities are available on payment basis at the school premises itself. All special entries and accompanying persons have to arrange accommodation of their own. AICF Player RegistrationAICF player registration is compulsory for all players. AICF Player Registration fee is Rs. 250/- for the year 2018-2019. AICF player registrations will be accepted only through online. Players / Arbiters registration should be done well before the start of event (Tournament). thAll the participants of 66 Tamil Nadu State Open FIDE Rated Chess Championship must be registered with TNSCA as players by paying Rs. 150/- as player registration fee for the year 2018-2019, the players have to submit their Date of Birth Certificate copy and one passport size photo along with the duly signed TN Players' Registration Form. Those who have already paid must submit the proof. Dharmapuri RegistrationDharmapuri District players registration is compulsory for Dharmapuri District players. The fee for the year 2018-2019 is Rs. 50/- only.Default Time: Default time is 15 minutes. Players have to be at the boards within 15 minutes of the start RulesFIDE rules in force shall apply.System of PlayThe Tournament shall be conducted on Nine rounds Swiss System.Time Control90 minutes each plus 30 seconds increment from the move one.
