Position - Offshore Construction Supervisor - North SeaI was contracted to Caledonian Petroleum Services (Global CPS), as their Offshore Construction Supervisor on the Forties Bravo & Beryl Alpha Apache platforms as the CPS offshore focal point for maintenance on structural & piping integrity repairs. Responsible for liaising with OIM, FCO, OIE, ITL, scaffolding supervisor, engineers offshore & onshore including onshore integrity manager to produce repair strategy work-scopes, drawings & isometrics from planning to execution while maintaining & promoting an excellent safety culture to ensure clients expectations are exceeded. All works carried out in line with budgets/timelines while providing the most cost

Nov 07 - Dec 09 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.Position - ForemanI worked as foreman for SRR as part of the core maintenance integrity repair team onboard Maersk’s North Sea Producer FPSO, liaising with my Offshore Construction Supervisor to ascertain rapid long term, cost effective repair solutions to ageing/failing/corroding valves, structural steel & pipework integrity related issues that arose onboard the vessel during our rotation. I feel I’ve gained valuable knowledge in forward planning, engaging with multiple trades through to executing scopes safely and on budget.

May 07 - Oct 07 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.Positions - Foreman/SupervisorBlackford Dolphin semi-submersible rig docked in Keppel Verolme ship yard for complete rebuild, Rotterdam, Holland. Supervise the installation & alignment of the 3 mud pumps along with all associated pipework, mud pump pipework, cooling lines, sea water lines and instrumentation air lines up to the drill derrick.

Apr 05 - Dec 05 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.

Position - Charge-handStructural integrity repairs carried out to elephant’s foot and pipework at base of hull, also replaced pipework & valves on 1st stage separator on Maersk’s North Sea Producer FPSO.

Position - PipefitterMaersk Inspirer jack-up rig docked in Verolme dry-dock, Haugesund, Norway. Carried out the complete replacement of the mud pumps manifold pipework & valves along with deck strengthening.

Nov 04 - Jan 05 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.Position - Pipefitter

3 month project work on a pipe laying barge docked in Bergen, Norway. Change out of all engine room deluge pipework & replace sea water cooling pipework.

Aug 04 - Oct 04 Cansco Greig Engineering - Altens, Aberdeen.Position - Charge-hand pipefitter10 weeks shutdown project work on the BG Armada platform replacing the 12” coarse seawater pipework, supports and 18” gas cooler lines. The Port Reval “floatel” barge was moored alongside to cope with the POB.

Jul 04 - Aug 04 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.

Position - Instrument pipefitter30 day project work as an instrument pipefitter, replacing all small bore hydraulic & instrument air lines on the Stena-Tay drilling rigs moon pool area & UHP unit, while it was docked in Las Palmas dry docks, Canary Isles.

May 04 - Jun 04 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.

Position - Pipefitter14 days shutdown on the Maersk Curlew FPSO, replacing 20” & 8” gas export lines along with storm damaged instrument pipework.

Mar 04 - Apr 04 Scottish Rig Repairers (SRR) - West Tullos, Aberdeen.Position - Pipefitter21 day shutdown scope in the Dutch sector on the NAM F3 gas platform, north of Den Helder, replacing/welding/installing large sections of 26” carbon steel riser spools.

Feb 04 - Mar 04 R&M Engineering - Altens, Aberdeen.Position - Charge-hand pipefitterR&M were contracted by Subsea 7 to carry out an urgent fabrication of a 5” super-duplex sub-sea spool, aboard the DSND Pelican diving vessel on location in the North Sea. Detailed communication between the divers & fabrication team was paramount in obtaining critical flange face deflection sizes for fabricating a jig to use as a datum for fabricating the due to original spool isometric being unavailable.

Apr 98 - Sep 00 BARMAC (Halliburton) - Ardersier and Nigg Yards, North of Scotland.

Served recognised NVQ level 3 Apprenticeship at BARMAC, Ardersier & Nigg rig yards. While on-site I enjoyed learning & working hard completing six 12hr shifts per week in the large exotic fab-shop honing my pipefitting skills for a year before moving onto installing spools ranging from ½”-46” diameter, actuator/control/gate/ball/choke valves, tanks and structural steel sections into the following installations: Phoenix Viking rig, Elgin Franklin TPG500 gas jack-up rig, Texaco Captain template and British Gas modules 3 & 5. Extremely competent working on pipe bore sizes of ½”-46” diameter, 3mm-100mm wall thickness. Skilled at operating plasma arc air cutting machine as well as propane and oxy-acetylene cutting equipment, exceptional high workmanship pipe-fitting with High & Low temp Carbon Steel, various grades of Stainless Steel, Duplex, Super-Duplex, 6MOLY, Cunifer, Titanium, Dura-steel and G.R.E. plastic pipework, fittings & bonding agents.

NVQ/SCOTVEC qualifications/courses available on request.
