Friendly HOA The HOA Board is made up of your neighbors that volunteer their time

to make sure the neighborhood conforms to the covenants that we all

agreed to when we moved here. Most people do not intend to violate

the rules, but sometimes things get out of control, such as weeds that

go unnoticed or extra do dads in the yard that gradually emerge. It’s

kind of like placing a frog in cold water and slowly heating it. The frog

will enjoy the warming water all the way to its death. Unlike if you

started with boiling water, the frog would jump out.

The Board hired a management company to monitor for covenant

violations and that is done on a monthly basis with a drive though. Each

month they usually are looking for a seasonal item that needs attention.

For instance, typically in the spring, they are checking for driveway and

building power washing needs. In the summer they watch for lawn

maintenance.

Everyone has individual tastes and ideas, making some things difficult to

administer. If you get the first friendly notice letter, step back and

check what it is looking for. It may just be preventing a more major

issue down the road like a reminder that something is simmering. If it’s

something easy to remedy and upon follow-up it’s fixed, you will not

hear again. If it does not get fixed, you will get another notice about

something getting to the boiling point, trying to save the frog. If not

addressed, the frog will need resuscitation! Poor frog!

If there are ever extenuating circumstances, please let

us know! We are not heartless.

Here’s what we’re looking for this month: Need to

Power Wash Driveway Take a look at yours and see if it may need

attention.

Pressure Cleaning Tips Here are a few tips to ensure you chose the right contractor for your home.

• Properly Insured …The most important is being Properly Insured. Any reputable company carries insurance and can produce a copy that you can verify. Takes one slip to damage your largest investment and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

• House Washing… Cleaning the exterior of your home does not require pressure to clean. Most reputable companies use cleaning solutions to clean the exterior of your homes. Low pressure or No Pressure is the safest way of cleaning without worry of damage to your building, windows or paint.

• ROOF CLEANING … yes roof cleaning is a thing. If you look at your roof and you see Black Streaks running down your roof those can be cleaned. The proper way to clean your roof is with NO PRESSURE. When inquiring about roof washing ask what kind of pressure that is applied to your shingles? How do you apply the cleaner? Proper answers are a dedicated pump to apply and no pressure when applying it.

• Driveway Cleaning- Although you can clean just as well with a wand nowadays companies use a Surface Cleaner. The benefit to using this tool is to keep the cleaning consistent. When you use a wand, you use it like a pendulum and directly up and down will be 2 inches off the ground but as you go back and forth you get further from concrete. It will look clean when you are done but as time goes on you will see “Stripes” in your concrete. A simple Google Search of “Pressure Cleaning, Ocala or Roof Cleaning, Ocala” will give you list of reputable companies to choose from.

Did you know… Any tree over 4 inches in diameter requires an ARC request before chopping

down! Get a form from Leland or our website.
