SWITCHING ONTHE APPLIANCE

• ADVICE ON ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONSThis class II appliance (double insulation) requiresa single-phase alternating current but does notneed an earthed socket. The universal-type motoris fitted with an interference suppressor.

The power supply must be protected by a differen-tial circuit breaker and a 10 A fuse.

Check that you have a standard 10/16 A single-phase socket.

Make sure that the voltage of your power supplymatches that shown on the identification plate ofyour appliance.

The mixer function will allow you to make soups, vegetable purées and pulps without any problem, while you will find that the whisk function is idealfor making pancake batter, mayonnaise, beatenegg whites, chocolate mousse, butter sauces, whip-ped cream or smooth fromage frais. The whisk is composed with a metallic gear boxeven more resistant when processing pan cakes ormashed potatoes. The variable-speed function will enable you toadjust the speed to suit each preparation and tostart the processing at a lower speed in order toreduce splashing. Each power mixer is supplied with a wall supportfor easy storage. The simple design of these appliances allows theassembly and dismantling of the moving parts in notime at all, to ease maintenance and cleaning.

WORKING POSITION

• BLADE FUNCTIONFor greater control, werecommend that you holdthe power mixer by thehandle and the bottom ofmotor unit. Furthermore,we recommend that youtilt the power mixer at aslight angle to prevent thebell from touching thebottom of the container.

The power mixer canequally be restedagainst the rim of thecontainer, but must betilted, and the bell mustnot touch the bottom ofthe container.

If using a support on topof the pan, ensure thatthe power mixer ispositioned in the centreof the support, that it isat a slight angle, andthat the bell is nottouching the bottom ofthe container.Always make sure that the bell is sufficientlyimmersed to avoid splashing and that the air ventsof the motor unit does not come into contact withany liquid. For optimum efficiency, two thirds of the foot shouldbe immersed in the preparation.

• VARIABLE-SPEED OPERATION(MP 350 V.V. Ultra, MP 450 V.V. Ultra, MP 350 CombiUltra, MP 450 Combi Ultra, MP 450 FW Ultra)Follow steps 1 to 6 above, then:7. Change the speed ofthe motor by turningthe variable speed but-ton (VB) towards themaximum or minimumas required.

The speed will remain the same, even ifthe consistency of the preparation changes.

• MASHED POTATOES FUNCTION (MP 350 CombiUltra, MP 450 Combi Ultra, MP 450 FW Ultra)

A self-regulating speed systemhas been specially developpedfor pureeing tasks using thewhisk (jerky rotation).

To reach this speed, you have to turn the knobcounterclokwise until you feel a click. Mashed pota-toes must be processed at the lowest speed.A triangle marked on the speed variation switchindicates the speed dedicated to mashed potatoespreparation.

MAINTENANCE

• BLADESThe performance of the cut essentially depends onthe state of your blades and their wear. The bladesare subject to wear and as such need to bereplaced from time to time to ensure the consistentquality of the end product. You are also advised to change, at the same time, the washer and the watertight seals.

• WHISKSThe success of your preparation will dependessentially on the state of the metal wires and theiramount of wear and tear. They should thereforebe replaced from time to time in order to ensureoptimum quality of the finished product.

• FOOT SEALIn order to maintain a perfect watertight sealbetween the foot and the bell it is necessary tocheck the wear of the seal regularly and replace it ifnecessary.

• WASHERThe washer can be greased using a suitable foodsafe lubricant. In order to maintain a perfect watertightness it isnecessary to check the wear of the washer, and ifnecessary, to replace it.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• WEIGHT and DIMENSIONS (in mm)

W A R N I N GFrom time to time, check:- The state of the 3 buttons’ watertight mem-

branes. Even the tiniest cracks will allowliquid to seep in.

- The state of the blender housing. This, shouldnot show any signs of cracking or anyabnormal openings which could allow accessto the live components.

Check that your detergent is suitable for cleaningplastic parts. Some washing agents are too alka-line (e.g. high levels of caustic soda or ammonia)and totally incompatible with certain types ofplastic, causing them to deteriorate rapidly.

• CARTRIDGEYou need to change the cartridge :

- If liquid starts seeping into the foot- If there is any play in the blade

1) Cartridge dismantling :

Position the knife dismantling tool on thecartridge . Remove the cartridge from its placeby knocking on the knife dismantling toolwith a plastic mallet.
