Finally, some additional words on SAP ATTP for all the Life Science companies currently evaluating a Level 4 Serialization/Track & Trace system (EPCIS Repository). If we compare SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals with other, non-SAP technologies on the market we strongly believe that SAP ATTP will outshine all existing technologies for the following reasons:
• SAP ATTP is commonly designed and built between SAP and 14 co-innovation customers. Therefore SAP ATTP can be considered as a solution from customers for customers. One good example is that the co-innovation customers alone spent 400 man days, not including remote work, on face to face meetings with SAP to make the solution to what it is today.
• SAP ATTP is based on more than 12 years of experience from SAP in the Serialization/Track & Trace space and more than 100 productive customers (14 of the top 20 pharma companies are using SAP software already today for Serialization/Track & Trace)

Mobile scanning is the only way to guarantee that all product IDs are captured as they move along the Supply Chain. Every Track & Trace solution will sooner or later require mobile access to, at least, their global repository. Such access will primarily be required for verification purposes, exceptional situations (e.g. decommissioning IDs, product recalls, destructions) and aggregated operations, for example, packing, unpacking, shipping, and rework.
Movilitas has invested more than 2,000 man-days in developing the Movilizer solution specifically for Track & Trace.
Today, it is used by many of our clients to connect to their SAP Track & Trace systems. The solution is standard and comes with standard documentation. HOW MOVILIZER CAN HELP YOU…
Movilizer can handle online/offline data capture within the same architecture. In Track & Trace this is crucial because IDs and events need to be captured regardless of the connectivity. Other mobile solutions on the market only support online data capture.
Movilizer can handle mashing-up more than one system in the same mobile device. This allows Movilizer to link SAP ERP logistical documents (e.g. delivery orders) with scanned IDs. This ability to mash-up functionalities from different systems in one application is a major advantage in Track & Trace.
Movilizer easily integrates 3PLs in the event capturing process. In Track & Trace, many companies have to juggle with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), contract manufacturers and/or external warehouses. All too often, 3PLs do not have access to the manufacturer’s corporate network, but they still need to capture events and send them to the manufacturer’s SAP Track & Trace repository. Having access to a public cloud via the Internet is a real advantage. This is why Movilizer has the unique “Movilizer Warehouse Gateway” function, which allows 3PLs to connect with their own mobile devices to the cloud in a secure and scalable way, thus avoiding the duplication of scans.
Movilizer can be integrated with existing WM systems easily. Many warehouse operating companies already have a WM system today which is why nobody is keen for an additional mobile scanning device to be used by the operators.
Movilizer can be integrated and capture e.g. required inbound- and outbound shipment information ”invisible” in the background for Track & trace purposes i.e. NO multiple devices to be used and NO double scanning required.
Movilizer not only supports the most commonly used picking tables and handheld scanners for scanning IDs but also smartphone cameras. In Track & Trace, the possibility to scan IDs in different locations using different hardware is essential.
Movilizer supports Bluetooth printing of labels on mobile printers, which is widely used in Track & Trace for re-aggregating hierarchies (every time a new parent hierarchy is created, a new label needs to be generated).
Movilizer permits secure data access in every conceivable business scenario. For example, granting access to customs authorities to interrogate SAP OER/SAP ATTP in order to validate product IDs using smartphones or scanners. Movilizer is ideal for this because as a cloud-based solution, it allows any personal mobile device connected to the Internet to securely retrieve data from SAP OER/SAP ATTP. Alternatively, we can provide a tailored service via app or text message that allows authorized persons to verify product IDs.

A RAPID DEPLOYMENTSOLUTION FOR SAP AII/OER
Verifier Suite© is a full SAP solution for mass serialization, Track & Trace and product authentication based on SAP AII/OER. It comes in a solidly designed product development architecture with its own SAP name range (INX), enabling easy versioning, maintenance and upgradeability.
Two of the five Verifier Suite© components—VeriPack and VeriTrack—have been developed by Movilitas to help life science industry clients comply with an increasingly stringent regulatory landscape for Traceability and Serialization. VeriPack and VeriTrack complement SAP Track & Trace by speeding up implementation times and enriching serialization projects with new functionalities and best practices gained from across our different client engagements.

With VeriPack and Veri95, Movilitas is the first SAP Partner worldwide to be RDS certified in this area. Our RDS certification for Mass Item Serialization & Manufacturing Operations enables Movilitas to enrich SAP’s offering on SAP MII, AII and OER.
However, as stated at the beginning of this chapter, VerifierSuite is built on SAP AII/OER. With SAP Advanced Track and Trace being now available most companies might decide to go with SAP Advanced Track and Trace instead of SAP AII/OER. Nevertheless, for some customers there might still be a good reason to go with SAP AII/OER instead of SAP Advanced Track and Trace. Unfortunately this is nothing that can be quickly summarized but, if there are any doubts or backgrounds needed, we are happy to have this discussion with interested clients.

Legislation worldwide requires pharmaceutical Supply Chain members to track and trace their products. These requirements constantly increase the necessity to collaborate with Supply Chain partners and exchange traceability data:
• For products intended to be sold in the US, traceability is achieved by handing the traceability data to the next supply chain member
• For all other products sold into markets that require serialization typically Government Reporting is required where the MAH sends traceability data into a central database operated by or on behalf of a Government Agency

Companies which are required to track their product movements via batches, whether it is a legal requirement or a Supply Chain integrity need, find it difficult to perform this task in an efficient manner. The reason for this is that the complete batch genealogy, for impacted batches both upstream and downstream, cannot be easily determined or reported upon. Such tasks can take weeks to complete and it is business critical to find out the root cause of a product batch issue as fast as possible in order to mitigate its impact.
SAP Global Batch Traceability is a tool that gives immediate insight into product batch genealogies.
