MOVIE MAGIC TO THE STAGE IN “THE WIZ” “Mariah Iman Wilson (“Magic” in movie DREAMGIRLS)

Whittier, CA (March 30, 2011) Mariah Wilson who starred as “Magic” in the movie “DREAMGIRLS” opposite of the famed Oscar Winners, Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx, is now leading her school production in another Broadway musical “THE WIZ” as “Dorothy.” Mariah will open this weekend, Friday and Saturday nights, April 1st and 2nd in the Bishop Amat High School Production of “THE WIZ,” a rare appearance for this big screen movie and television actress. Showtime starts at 8:00pm at the Whittier Center Theatre in Whittier, CA.
Mariah will sing the popular Broadway songs “Ease on down the Road,” “Soon as I Get Home” and “Home” written by Charlie Smalls. The award-winning play, THE WIZ book was written by William F. Brown as it
pertains to the African-American experience is retelling L. Frank Baum’s story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. “It was very important to me to be apart of this production because this Broadway Musical represents the African-American Culture and our contributions to the Arts,” says Mariah. proud.” Mariah is also know for her work in several film, television and commercial projects, most notably ABC’s Family “Lincoln Heights” and NCSI.
Mariah who is also on a musical tour of her

MARIAH's single "MY BABY' is a high energy, upbeat single with awesome beats and lyrics strangely familiar sound to the 80’s Toni Basil hit song “Hey Mickey." This actress, now singer/songwriter continues to act, sing and dance her way as
a triple-threat artist in Hollywood touring Southern California Schools with scheduled performances at Etiwanda High School’s - Spring Pep Rally also on Friday, April 1, 2011 and Great Oak High School in Temecula, CA in August. There are many more legs to her tour being added throughout the year. She is planning to release an album in the coming months.
