About UsMountain District Learning Centre was established in 1974 as Mountain District Women’s Co-op. The Co-op worked to progress the interests of local women by providing an avenue for the sale of hand-made craft items, providing an independent income for the women involved. The Co-op introduced HSC which is the equivalent of today’s VCE. Access to local community education made academic achievement a reality for many women.

Today, the Centre provides opportunities for men and women, young and old to access programs for education, skill development, friendship and enjoyment.

MDLC has a strong community development focus and participates in activities that help to strengthen the Ferntree Gully community including acting as publishers of the Ferntree Gully News and participating in networks and on consultative committees that advance community interests.
