MOUNT MEE NEWS MAY 2015
The Hall Is Your Hall The AGM will be held on the 13 May. This is a vital meeting to confirm appointments for the hall and discuss the direction for the next year.
The Mount Mee Hall committee would like to invite members of the community to join us at the AGM, as well as other meetings (held every second Wednesday at 7.00pm) and bring your ideas on how you would like the community to grow.
If you cannot attend a meeting, get in touch with us and let us know what you would like to see in the community. Already there are some inspired projects in the making, however the hall is for you - what would you like to see happen?
Make the hall your own by getting in touch and helping create an event, training, get together - whatever you think would help improve the community.
Contact Denton Webster for more information on the email below.
Goodbye
Another long standing member of the Mount Mee Community has left the mountain. Best wishes to Neil Cook and thank you for all your support, kindness and hard work in the community.
Thank You
There are always so many people who provide so much time and effort in the community and during community events. With a huge month for the Mount Mee Hall with events from The Celtic Night, first Movie Night and the ANZAC day get together at the hall - thank you to all the members of the community who have put in so much time and effort!
Welcome on Board
Welcome on board to Joanne Brodie who we are hoping will be elected as the new secretary of the Mount Mee Hall at the AGM. Joanne will be a great addition to our committee and we are excited about the year ahead!
We would love to welcome more people - so come join us!

Community Cookbook
Lisa Chapman is leading a community project to develop a Mount Mee Community Cookbook called “Udderly Delicious”. Lisa and her team are pulling together tried and tested recipes from the community.
A photographic competition has also been run and the winner was Majella Holton, whose image will feature in the Cookbook as well! (see photo below).
Contact Lisa if you would like to submit any recipes.
Another Movie Night
Brain child of Vanessa Mead, the first movie night was a roaring success! With limited activities in the hall for children, this was a great start to including more events for the kids.
Don’t forget the next next movie night on 15 May. Harry Potter will be showing and there will be popcorn a plenty! With free entry, why not come along!
Garden Club Report
We had a wonderful day with Regine and Erick at Bellevue Garden with a record attendance of gardening enthusiasts! Membership for the club has now reached 40!
The weather for our visit was magnificent and the garden truly reflected their creative design and passion for gardening. Thank you to Bellevue Gardens.

Improvements At Mount Mee Cemetery
Thanks go to President of the cemetery committee, Rodney Eaton and member, Darryl Duncan for achieving a grant of $15,000 from the Moreton Bay Council to install a new eco-friendly toilet. This is great addition to the wheelchair friendly access, making your visit to loved ones more enjoyable.

Mount Mee Wedding Fair - 28th June
The Mount Mee Hall is holding the first Wedding Fair on the mountain.
There are many wedding vendors and venues in the area and yet not many people from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast think about this area for their nuptials.
Our aim is to showcase what we have on the mountain and surrounds. With thousands of dollars of goodies being given away, it is definitely worth a look!
However, the wedding fair is not just about selling services to the bride and groom, it is also about helping them. Below are some of our vendors attending, but see more on www.mountmee.com.au
There will be informative talks on the day, opportunities to ask candid questions, in addition to an amazing fashion parade. Spread the news - Mount Mee is the new Maleny!
