The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has published the new efficiency Standard IEC 60034-30, that defines the principles and harmonizes the classes of energetic efficiency through the world. The new Standard divides the electric motors

in three levels of efficiency: IE1 (standard efficiency), IE2 (high efficiency), IE3 (premium efficiency). Motors with the logo IE2 are available also in High Efficiency IE2.
