Ten years ago, the Italian families ate an average of 40 kg of pasta per year. The consumption of pasta in Italy dropped to 31 kg per family. Cinzia Marchetti, director of consumer research Barilla SpA, the largest pasta producer in the world, whose sales fell 3% last year, says the situation is serious. "A number of factors were already taking shape for some time, but now everything is exploding," he says. Barilla seeking to expand overseas market to compensate for the erosion in the Italian market. She recently signed an agreement with the network of McDonald's fast food to produce a new series of noodle dishes, hoping to win over young consumers

Furthermore, you will be able to identify the differences between fruits and vegetables and learn about several cultural practices
The house of nutrition. Good eating habits are taught at home. You will interact with basic nutritional concepts through multimedia tools; including a 3D gourmet dish that will challenge your skills to classify food in the three main food groups, supplemented by a digital program that will ask you to identify the elements of a label with nutritional information and other activities as choosing the right food regardless the package.
Metabolic center of nutritional studies. You will find information about metabolism and digestion, while learning in a fun way concepts such as the glycemic index of different food products and pasta nutritional contribution. Besides, you will be able to calculate your body mass index and reflect upon the danger of having overweight problems.
Pasta factory. A small manufacturing world where you will unveil the secrets of pasta production processes, from durum wheat, pasta's raw material, until final packaging, going through gluten analysis and the control of kneading variables under stringent sanitation practices. You will even be able to pack pasta in a fun contest against the clock!
Al dente restaurant. Pasta is eaten around the world in many and delicious dishes. Our Chef, a pasta expert humanoid, can give you advice on how to cook this food. You will be able to help him dressing pasta dishes and to guessing the nationality of the guests.
Library. History has a delicious taste. The library will provide information about pasta ancient history while testing your knowledge in a giant crossword puzzle.
